Hoping to get a real post up soon, but for now, have my Christmas wish list:

It's looking like most of my Christmas gifts are going to be $, and that suits me fine, as I'd say the main thing I want is the same thing I wanted last year - fiscal support to help me pay for my painting. I currently still owe $1600 of the $5000 purchase price, and I'd like to get it paid off before the summer.

My biggest tangible Christmas gift is from my mom, and already bought and paid for - she chipped in half the purchase price for this:

Which I bought massively on sale in September.

The other things I'd like? Roughly in order of how much I want them, here goes

1. Civ 5 for PC
2. iTunes gift certificate (mostly so I can buy Owl City's "Maybe I'm Dreamimg" album...and a few other odds and ends)
3. Awesome set of headphones for use when I'm working out, preferably that has some way I can skip to the next or previous song without having to either pull out my iPhone or take off a pair of gloves
4. Amazon.com gift certificate
5. Stephanie Pui-Mun Law's special edition Tarot set with a custom card, with my one word actually being two: "Milky Way." (given that it's two words that refer to one thing, I think she'll let it fly...)
6. Keith Hernandez jersey, you know, the ridiculous looking blue one with the orange stripes? (actually, I'd prefer the gray one...)

...and that's about it. Really. And most of these things I'll buy myself in the near future if no one gives them to me (except maybe the headphones, which I'll just keep convincing myself I don't really need even though I know I want them, especially with winter coming...)

I'd ask for ya'lls lists, except I've just arbitrarily decided what to get already for the folks I'm doing shopping for. :) Hope to finish up more or less today!
Happy Holidays, everyone.

I'd like to buy a clue...

Also, I must say I was not hugely impressed with Civ 5. The thing that killed the mood for me was the time to process each move on large maps. I keep hoping they'll patch it to improve performance though!

Ah! Painting. Last fall I worked out a payment plan so I could buy a painting called "Man with Gold Earring" by the artist Onar Rayyan. Original fantasy art is one of my main indulgences. :) here's a print of the painting in question:

And I've heard not great things about Civ 5, but I've plate every Civ since the original, and I can't give up on them now. :)

That is an *awesome* painting!

And not saying you should give up on Civ. Just that my christmas wish is for them to make it work properly :)

(also, fellow civ addict, mayhaps we should play at some point? Preferably 4 or BtS)

You know at GenCon, I was trying to describe a painting to you and failing? It was this one

Ah. :) Yeah, that one and the cute little girl with the horrible monster (http://www.etsy.com/listing/55984342/the-favorite-print?ref=v1_other_2) are both on my "if I had just a little more money..." list. I'm seriously considering (if it's still available) speaking to Omar and Sheila about starting payments on the girl with the beast as soon as I finish paying for Man with Gold Earring. But it'd be nice to have that money back each month...

Yeah, I can see the money back thing. But those would both be neat pieces to have.

There's a piece from Emily Fiegenschuh that I really want. I'm considering, if I get this job, buying it. It's $350 but the most I've -ever- spent on art is $100? And that was for a commissioned piece.
