Hopefully, Apartment, Again!

unforthSo following a hunch, I determined that Yahoo! had been sorting the e-mails from Sakura House into spam.
In my spam folder, I found the e-mail with the link I needed in order to put a down payment. Due to a little confusion that wasn't my fault, they ended up offering me Sangubashi 402 instead of the apartment in Kamimachi that I had requested. This apartment is slightly smaller (about 150 square feet/14.3 square meters), slightly cheaper per month (about $825/102000 yen) and in a far better location - only a minute from a train station, close to two large parks and within easy walking distance of Shinjuku (less than a mile) and any number of Book Offs (at least 3). And the closest museum to it is the "Japanese Sword Museum," where I DEFINITELY need to go. :)
I went over to the link, and put in my info regarding paying the 30,000 yen ($242) deposit, and that's all sent. I printed out the deposit agreement, which I need to scan and send back with my signature on it (now I wish I had my scanner set up, I'll have to go to Kinko's and scan it there later.)
With everything that else that has gone wrong, though, now there are two more things: first, I sent in a request about another apartment before I realized what had happened, so I'll have to apologize and sort that out. Second, and more troubling by far, I was apparently supposed to send this back within 24 hours. It was sent on Thursday of last week. So after I sign and send back the thing this evening, I will call them and make sure that this apartment is MINE.
Fingers crossed, hoping that I'm finally done with this entire rather irritating process. It would have been so much easier if it wasn't for the fact that there is only a two hour window in which I am awake and they are open, so every single step has a lag of at least a day (because I have to wait for them to open each morning, they open at 9 AM, which is 7 PM here the previous night. I'm gonna have to get used to that...
Anyway, I need to keep working. :)

skygawker reminded me that Google Maps totally rocks, so after a little more work I spent 40 minutes starting to map out the area I will be living in. I need to flesh out Shinjuku and Harajuku more. :)
