Hey all! Don't really know what to say - I've got a masters degree in Library Science from the School of Library and Information Science at Indiana University at Bloomington (graduated spring, 2007). I earned my undergraduate degrees in history and East Asian Studies at SUNY Binghamton (graduated fall, 2004). I work for my mothers company writing grants for the New York City school system. At the moment, I'm making of a career of that - aiming to take over the company that so she can retire - I'm planning to go back to school for a PhD. The last year and a half I've spent a lot of time writing, and I want to try to get a novel published. I'm using a Live Journal to write in. I like to write in short, declarative sentences that start with 'I'. Go me.

I'm 27 years old. I grew up in Manhattan on the upper west side, where I lived for the first 17 1/2 years of my life. I love New York City, and though I don't expect to ever live there again, it'll always be an important part of who I am. I also lived in Binghamton, New York, for 5 years. I lived in Bloomington, Indiana, for more than 2 years. After that, I lived in Tokyo, Japan for four months, and then moved back to New York City to help my mother. I've liked all of these places in their own way.

Anyway, my interests lists reflect a lot about me. I listen to all kinds of music but favor punk and emo, I love to read - especially fantasy novels and manga, and I love Sirius Black...er...and Rand al'Thor (yeah, yeah, I know, I know). I have a lot of intellectual pursuits and am passingly familiar with most areas of science. I used to spend a huge amount of time role playing - tabletop, LARP, and video game - but these days I find that I rarely have the time. This makes me sad, but it also means that I particularly value the time that I do have. I'd like to think I'm a pretty friendly person, though I have been known to be not so nice from time to time, particularly in regards to people who rub me the wrong way. I try to keep this journal entirely public, and though this means I occasionally avoid topics, I like knowing that there are no secrets between friends.

Unrelatedly, I've been using Unforth as my nickname since 1994. In all likelihood, if you've met someone named Unforth in a chat room, MUD, MMO, or any other online fashion, it was probably me. If you are someone I've met, get in touch! I'd love to hear from ya! Especially if you used to play a little game called Fed that used to be on AOL in the mid 1990's. God I miss that game. :)
