Guess I'm in Shape
Mar. 17th, 2008 10:15 amKeeping in mind that fitness is highly relative, I think I have to acknowledge that I'm more in shape than I thought. After slacking off due to high volume of work, I went out this morning with the purpose of moving for an hour. My goal was to try to jog as much as I walked. I figured I'd jog 5 minutes, get tired, walk 5 minutes, repeat. I haven't exercised in an organized fashion for a month and I haven't jogged since summer, and remembering how hard it was in summer when I started, I thought that was reasonable. Instead, I got out, walked for about a minute, and then started jogging, and didn't stop for 50 minutes! I'm pretty severe on myself about fitness and weight, but even I think that if I can just randomly jog for 50 minutes I must be doing better than I imagined. So right now I feel pretty good! Except for the soreness, the aches, and the general omg I'm tired. ;)

Date: 2008-03-18 01:52 am (UTC)This is my shameful confession for the day: On Friday I thought I was coming down with the flu - horrible stabbing pains in my stomach, aching back, etc. I almost went home early. It wasn't until 9 pm that I realized what was really wrong with me: I'd done sit ups the night before.
