Ah, it made my voice quiver when I was reading it aloud! And even more so because guess what happened today? At my rather low-level Japanese high school, a student asked me about "Lincoln's speech." The Japanese English teacher then noted, "You know, the one that says 'conceived in liberty.'"
Why do Japanese high schoolers know this speech?!
I was so touched that they did! So I rattled off the part that I did know. (Incidentally I have been asked about it once before, but today was a great day to be asked a second time. ^_^)
