Busy, as Usual
Feb. 20th, 2008 04:21 pmFirst, thanks every one for your wishes for my grandfather, I really appreciate it.
I'm back from New Hampshire now, and I've had a busy week of it. He's doing better, though his memory is definitely slipping. He'll be moving to Texas in early April, in all likelihood. There's still lots of family drama, though, which isn't any fun and is causing me some stress.
Other than that, life is, unsurprisingly, busy. I just finished a draft of one of the grants today; it's missing one section that I can't quite finish yet, and of course it needs loads and loads of work, but that's why it's a draft. I'm a little worried, though - usually my first drafts are 10 to 15 pages over length; this one is only 5 pages over right now. It worries me to have so little to cut. Is that weird? I wish I felt more excited about being done, but I'm not. Meanwhile, we still don't have the best sense of how many we're writing. At the moment, it looks like we'll be doing 4 21st CCLC grants (that includes the one I just finished) and a different NSF grant that'll be due the following week. Brain leak-inducing, truly.
I'm on hiatus from Ni90 pending a reduction in my stress level, I've been dieting more actively but working out less, Jonie has been acting adorably affectionate the last week, cuddling with her head in my lap, I'm feeling distinctly and utterly anti-social, and I've been reading a lot. I think that's about it for now. :)
