skygawker, here's Project Vote Smart, which contains a huge amount of non-partisan information about various elections - sarcastibich, I think this might be what you were looking for. :) And, so I don't forget, I apparently am in the 8th NY Congressional District, so I need to read up on my candidates! :)
The Japanese index, Nikkei, dropped more than 11% today; the Dow ended down the largest percentage drop in one day since 1987 yesterday. So far, it's down about 2% (200 or so points) with a relative amount of stability for today. Guess a good political debate doesn't help the economy much...
