One of my morning traditions of late is to read the NYTimes Op-Ed's. Here's a quote I thought was awesome from one of them:
"In Switzerland, an American was bathed in compliments comparing the election to the fall of the Berlin Wall." Read the whole article here, it has a lot of tidbits from around the world.

It also includes this wonderful quote from MLK JR. (who was himself quoting a previous source): “Lord, we ain’t what we want to be; we ain’t what we ought to be; we ain’t what we gonna be, but, thank God, we ain’t what we was.”

Edit: Also, a random thought - an examination of electoral maps suggest I live in a city tied for most liberal in the country (based on % who voted for Obama) - 85% of Manhattan folks who voted went Democrat - the only city I could find that matched it was San Francisco - I checked Chicago, Boston, Miami, LA, Seattle, San Antonio, Houston, Austin, Dallas, Las Vegas, Reno - can anyone think of any other cities that might be as liberal? I'll check them to - but it feels kinda nice to know that we're way up there (though our number goes down a bit if you take all five boroughs in to account - damn Staten Island actually went to McCain - I knew there was a reason I didn't think of them as "real" New Yorkers... :) )
