Some Brief Notes on Life
Nov. 14th, 2008 09:31 am1. Yesterday, while walking the dog, I saw a preying mantis in the park - the first time I'd ever seen one. I feel like this means something, though I don't have a clue what (probably because it doesn't actually mean anything... ;) )
2. I'm moving. I'm putting in an application for a place at 193rd St. and Broadway Terrace which is in Washington Heights, or maybe in Inwood - it's close to the border. It's bigger than my current apartment, only a little less nice, and is $1250 per month. I'll have noisier neighbors, but a great view looking north towards the Bronx over the roof tops of the surround buildings, 6th floor in an elevator building which also has laundry. I haven't yet been approved, but I just saw a report with my current credit rating, and it's way higher than I thought it was, and that combined with the fact that I'm overqualified make me think that it'll be fine.
3. It's been cloudy for almost two weeks. This is having an annoying and noticeable effect on my mood and when I wake up in the morning.
4. I have failed NaNo. Not surprising. Don't really care. Too much is going on right now for me to have the energy for that, too.
5. I've started culling the belongings; looks like I'll do a pretty good job this time, already have about 40ish DVDs, a handful of games, and a large pile of books which will be donated and/or sold before I move.
There's more but I'll write about the rest of life some other time. :)
