Well, I'm moved. Moishe's was astonishing efficient and very competent - it took from 9 AM on the dot until about 1:30 to move everything out of my third story walk up and into my new 5th floor elevator apartment. They also disassembled and built my bed, and placed the furniture, all that jazz. It was about the price that I expected it to be, too - though it was more after the tip for the movers and all that kind of thing. :)

Meanwhile, I got the cable set up immediately and tried to set up the internet and failed. I figured it was Time Warners fault, and I didn't have the energy to fix it last night. Today I had a program observation all day, but after I got back I unpacked some boxes, and not long after I decided to hook up some stuff, and I noticed that the reason I didn't have internet had nothing to do with Time Warner and everything to do with me being so tired yesterday that I was stupid - I plugged the cable from the router into one of the random slots rather than the WAN one. Oopsy. So now I have internet, and I should have had it yesterday.

So yeah. Love the new apartment. Found the nearest park. Am very, very, very, very tired. Dig my new supermarket, it has a nice selection of new and old favorites. Something appears to be rather wrong with my laptop, but now is not the moment to figure out what - really I'm just procrastinating making dinner and then unpacking more. :)

(Tally of destroyed things thus far: one bookcase, one dish - not bad at all!)

Edit: In other news, I just found the most important item that thus far was missing - the remote control. Score.

Obama's Weekly Address, Discussing the Basics of His Economic Recovery Plan:

There are some things in there I like - and some that are kind of wonky. Like, I know what he means when he talks about updating federal buildings, but his choice of referring to light bulbs makes it sound like it's kind of nonsense - oh yeah, sure, changing light bulbs will change lots of jobs. Ah well. :)
