Watching anime on Hulu has enabled me to find some really awesome music (from openings and endings). My absolute favorite of these is Akeboshi's "Wind," which is the first Naruto ending theme. I liked it so much that I would boot up episodes and skip to the end just so I could hear it. I spent a good hour messing around on iTunes trying to find a copy I could buy - yes, I liked it enough to spend money on it! But it wasn't available, and I was very sad; at Origins I contemplated buying the Naruto OST 1 so I could get it. But I was too broke. Today, while procrastinating, I realized I could find it on youtube. Duh!
Then, poking around on the internet, I managed to find an mp3 of it!! Man, I'm so excited about this... ;) I managed to track down all of the other openings and endings I liked as mp3s, too (except one...can't have it all, right?
edit - HA! the problem with the one wasn't that I couldn't find it, it was that I couldn't figure out what the heck song it was or where I'd heard it, I only remember what the animation that went to it was, but I've figured it out - it's the 6th ending to Gintama, Snowkel's Kiseki, and now I've got that mp3 too!! squeeeeee.). This, in my book, is a big time win - I've been desperate for new music, but I haven't any money; most of my current favorite songs are on a CD I bought myself as a present in June that I haven't been able to rip because my CD drive won't open - fortunately I can listen to three of those on Motion City Soundtrack's myspace page, or I'd be even more frustrated...so yeah. New music. That I don't have to pay for. WIN! :)
(thanks to
fireun, by the way - it was her posting of a song earlier today that prompted the brain wave that led to all of these wonderful revelations and downloads!)
