I drove a little bit around the town; I agree that probably the least interesting thing I saw was VMI; the buildings were ugly and the roads were a pain to drive. Most of the rest of the town was pretty nice, though - it made me wish I'd considered going to Washington and Lee more seriously, and if I hadn't been feeling pretty sick I would have wandered around the downtown more, it had a lot of nice looking little historical downtown kind of stores.
