There will be three more Wheel of Time books, and they'll be finished by a fellow named Sanderson, based on Jordan's notes. The first one will be out in November and is called "The Gathering Storm" (http://www.amazon.com/Gathering-Storm-Wheel-Time/dp/0765302306/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1245722260&sr=8-4), and the other two will supposedly be out in 2010 and 2011. From what I hear, Jordan had basically already written all of the end game, and Sanderson is pretty far along on the second - the first is actually finished. So it seems likely that within the next few years, we'll actually get to learn the end.
I'm not even angry about it any more. I cried my eyes out when Jordan died (I wrote a long LJ post at the time (http://unforth.livejournal.com/132923.html)). There's no other series of books that can prompt me to go on longer irate rants, and I generally warn people not to even consider reading them, at least until the series is finished, and yet in the end it's so near and dear to my heart that I have some trouble reconciling that irritation, and I think I've just kinda given up. I re-read a bunch of them when Jordan died, and I'm currently...I think I'm two behind, I haven't read the two most recent. I doubt I'll re-read them again until Sanderson has finished all three...but maybe I will...I don't know, it's just gotten to be a part of my life.
