Changeling Memories: Samhain

unforthIn the next installment of rambling about the Changeling game in my LJ in private to myself (am I a loser or what? haha, no one will answer, because this post is private!) I thought I'd write about Samhain, mostly because, well, before Samhain not much happened with Kathryn. She was just sort of around.
She moved into Willogrove two interlude before, running away from home in favor of the safety of Willowgrove because the attacks with cold iron that took place previously left her frightened and lonely. She started to get to know people there, and soon met Amelie because she thought Amelie could help her with boys. She also started learning all kinds of things - architecture, from books she borrowed from Dino, cooking and dancing from Kaye, and much much more. Thankful for a place to stay, she gladly relinquished her room so that the Baron Vladimir ap Sharaev would have a place to stay, and took up rooming with Amelie. This worked for well, for Amelie rarely actually stayed in that room, since secretly the room was connected to her boyfriend Careg's room. Despite her outward behavior (nervous, distant, weird, etc.) Kathryn scribed nightly in her diary thoughts typically to any girl, about her day, about her crush, about life in general, giggly and sweet, in her own way. Another highlight of the time before Samhain was the introduction of Pinnochio, a sweet little Boggan. In a memorable evening, KAthryn found herself, along with Petra the knocker, attempting to explain to Pinnochio (who was but 10 years old) and Amelie (who had never taken sex education) the mechanics of sex. They started first with the purely biological, and Kathryn was so embaressed about it all that she was bright red the whole time and kept having to force herself to continue. She and Petra promised the two the "romance novel" version of things, which was much less boring, but they never got the opportunity.

Oh! And I remembered another Dino event. The same night that Amelie and Kathryn discussed how best to pursue her crush, Dino gathered together the younger craftsmen of the group to discuss with them the possibility of their joining the Bes din. Amelie came with Kathryn, and throughout the conversation, Kathryn tried the advice. First she gathered up her shirt more tightly around her waste and then, following Amelie's looks and silent directions, she edged ever closer to Dino, who edged ever further away. It was so obvious that the crass Lexxander Lugnut even commented on it, but of course Dino made no notice at all. However, this did prompt Kathryn to decide to try to join the Bes Din, and she began thinking on a potential masterwork that very night.
Amelie prepared Kathryn for Samhain, explaining that though it might feel weird to begin with, it was perfectly normal to feel weird and that once the night got in swing and the Unseelie side truly took over, Kathryn would feel alright in what she was wearing, with what she was doing, etc. She also warned Kathryn to try to not be afraid of whatever she was most afraid would happen (Which, Kathryn confessed, was losing her virginity) because the more she repressed her feelings, the more likely it was that she would do whatever it was that she was repressing.
Trying to hold back her trepidation, they arrived togethre, though soon Careg had captured Amelie's attention, and, left to her own devices, Kathryn tried to figure out what, exactly, she should do. (sadly, I don't remember all...but this is an approximation)
(I KNOW the order of some of these things is wrong, wrong, wrong)
Amelie and Careg approached her and the three of htem decided to play hide and seek. Kathryn found an excellent hiding spot in the graveyard. While she was lying in hiding, she received a grogan that invited her to a secret meeting meant to take place at 9PM. She was to deliver a secret message to this meeting, though she was informed that she must not open it. Intrigued, she went about her evening. Thoroughly intrigued, distracted from her hide and seek, Kathryn promptly opened the letter and read it, for her Unseelie side was the gossiping, talkative Pandora. Inside was a wonderful missive, informing her that she was "there type of people" and saying that at the secret meeting she should say the password written in the note, "swordfish." Feeling very proud of her good thinking, she didn't even mind when Amelie found her, and the two of them went in search of Careg (who, unknown to either of them, was standing right next to them invisibly.) And the night went on, and once again the three parted ways.
Not long into the night, Pinnochio the Boggan approached her with quit the sad story. Kathryn, making sure he realized that she had other things to do - first she had a secret meeting to go to, then she had to go have sex with Dino (for the dark voices in her mind whispered why worry, why wait, she could have him if she wanted him...) However, she made it clear that she could spare *some* time, and so her began his tale. Apparently, his sister had been kidnapped by Dauntain, and he needed help desperately, and asked for hers, though she wasn't sure how she could help. He didn't know where the dauntain were, he didn't know how to stop them, and though, though she tried to help, she just couldn't. Finally, she passed Pinnochio over to Petros, who, she figured, knew more about travelling and might know a way to find these folk.
All of this took longer than expected, and thus it was that she was late to the secret meeting. She got there, huffing and puffing a little bit, and promptly said the hidden message. The others had already been given the introduction - apparently, they were all being asked to join a secret group called "S.P.E.C.T.O.R" - her savvy had rendered her an elite member, in fact - and they had to try to stop SMiley's men, an opposing group. Kathryn didn't really care, over all, but she was in particular asked to try to kidnap the remarkable Dale Derring, which she agreed to do, though she vowed that she'd take care of it as fast as she could, so that she could go sleep with Dino. Towards that end, she rallied help from Amelie, and the two of them approached Dale Derring. Kathryn had a brilliant plan: she would ask Dale Derring if she could kidnap her. After she asked Dale this, she got a bit distracted though (Dale used magic!) for suddenly she had a most intense liking for Dale, and knew she would do anything Dale wanted. Thus, it was arranged that Dale would permit herself to be kidnapped, on the condition that Elijah Stark was made to come to her rescue. Kathryn saw Dale to her kidnapping, while Amelie went to try to secure Stark's agreement. All was going well - Dale was tied up, the evil scientist's laboratory was filled with awesome, evil things, etc., when KAthryn received word from Amelie over the Starfish network (see: Smart) that STark wasn't coming. Appalled, and filled with concern for Dale, Kathryn saw fit to rescue Dale herself, which was easily accomplished - for without Stark coming, there really was no need for Dale to stay captured. Together, they headed back into the event (as the magic began to fade) and Dale gave Kathryn a wonderful reward: Dino on a platter (using the same magic that had been used on Kathryn)...and Kathryn got what she had wanted (And not wanted) - her first time, on Samhain, with Dino. Needless to say, Unseelie Kathryn was absolutely THRILLED about this...she even pulled out her diary, and, knowing she would remember nothing come morning, wrote "I had sex with Dino" over and over again, enthusiastically, knowing and hoping that in the morning she would be as happy about this when she saw and didn't remember...
Not long after, Dino mentioned that he had planned to meet up with Liza, and the three of them thus descended to the dungeons. Liza was vicious as her unseelie self, though, and left the two of them beaten, bruised and naked chained, dangling, to the ceiling. To make matters worse, Andi came and stole their clothing even as KAthryn tried to convince Dino that really things weren't that bad. Starting to feel a bit concerned, they finally were rescued by Balbo, accompanied by the ghost of Grendel, who had been killed some how (and was so upset that he couldn't proposition the naked Kathryn that he stuck his head straight through her)...Balbo kindly lent his shirt to the nude Kathryn, and from there the two of them left. Hearing music from the graveyard, they danced for a while, and then found themselves watching one of the Aldara leave (and restoring the last people to life who would be able to, for after that point chimerical death would be permanent)...however, Dino and she got seperated.
This lead to a brief but very meaningful conversation with the Baron, for Kathryn had always been scared of him, and all he said really was that he was not in truth so scary, and asked that she remember it. The meeting made quite an impression on her, and she left feeling very well about the Baron indeed (no magic involved!)
Soon, however, she grew frustrated. Kaye had come and needed Dino's help, and he'd gone from being with Kathryn to following Kaye around. Despite an enjoyable (at the time) orgy that this led to with Kathryn involved (tentacles and Armand and Kaye and more, oh my!), she was peeved, and finally decided to confront Kaye with her annoyance, declaring that she wanted Dino to come when she called too! Needless to say (since this encounter was already described in the previous posting!) this didn't end well, and, very irritated, KAthryn decided that she'd just go have to sleep with someone else. She glanced aorund for the Baron, feeling he was an excellent choice, but he was no where to be seen.
Instead, she slept with the next person who propositioned her (she was asked many, many times that night), who was none other than Lexxander Lugnut himself. They retired to the sex room, where they engaged in various entertainments, including the use of the hilt of Kathryn's sword in new and perverse ways. After that was finished, she went out to find Dino again, leaving her sword to the perverse entertainments of the sex room, fairly satisfied in her revenge, but could not find him. Instead, she found Pinnochio, who was high out of his mind and had a clockwork key sticking out of his back. Thangobrind walked by and turned Kathryn into a milopede (sort of, made her think she was one), and after that wore of (dawn rapidly approaching) she and Pinnochio discussed (oddly) the use of the chicken gun which Pinnochio had - it manifested chickens.
And that's how Kathryn woke up surrounded by 28 chickens next to a giggling Pinnochio, wearing nothing but a shirt that was too large for her. And despite the reassurances that she would remember nothing, she was horrified to realize immediately that she DID remember things. Not everything, but many of the larger events of the night (all of the sex, her conversation with the Baron, and the endless feeling of happiness and satisfaction) did remain in her memory.
A favorite moment that didn't get included involved Grendel, recently restored to life. All night, various people had propositioned Kathryn for sex, and she kept telling them that unfortunately she was only interested in sleeping with Dino. However, Grendel's pass was remarkable. HE came up to her, and said, "Hey, wanna fuck?" The baroness Eleanor, sitting nearby, chimed in, saying, "no, no, that's not the way to get a nice girl to sleep with you at all!" and she drew him close and whispered in his ear for several moments while Kathryn watched, curious. Finally, nodding, Grendel turned back to Kathryn, and declared, "I wanna screw you, wanna go fuck in the woods?" "Much better, much better," chimed in Eleanor Elise, as Kathryn explained that she much prefered Dino, but she truly was sorry to turn him down.
Another memorable encounter involved Kanatori. Kathryn, gushing and happy and having the best night of her life, wondered idly how she could help her normal self to see how much *better* things were like this, and Kanatori offered to help, giving her his business card. She was so happy about this, too, she so wanted her normal self to see how much she liked being open and cheerful and not nervous or shy.
I'm sure there was more - such a great game, so much happened - but that's all for now - as before (with the Bes Din scene) I'm sure I'll recall more, and I'll just add it somewhere.
