General Update

unforthWell, I have a bit more time today to do the general update that I wanted to do yesterday.
While it's not where near on the scale of everything else that has been going on, my mood yesterday was largely ruined when, while trying to get some cash out of the bank so that I could make some xeroxes of articles I need in order to write a paper I have due in less than a week, I realized I didn't know my pin. I tried to remember my pin. Three times. Irritated, I called the company. Not only can't they tell you your pin over the phone, they don't even have access to it. All they can do is mail it to you, which is fundamentally useless if, you know, you really need money and can't get to the bank. However, I found out that was moot, for when I went to do some shopping, I had a useless piece of plastic. Apparently, failing to get your pin right three times causes ones debit card to be deactivated. So much for my zeroed Discover Card! I had to pay somehow. This, really, is only a minor irritation - I have my check book, and will use that for now, but it was enough to put me in a bit of a funk yesterday.
Lots of stuff seems to have happened, not just to me, in the last few days. Last night, I worked on my mask (it's mostly done, yay, feathers everywhere), plotted some Hogwarts with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
buzzermccain and saracaraid, and, in last nights bit of randomness, got a call from Minh, a friend of mine (one of my three close friends in HS) who is in the navy (currently stationed in Washington state) who I haven't been in touch with since December. He hadn't heard a thing (I would have been truly amazed if word had spread that far!) but we did a brief bit of catching up, and I was sad to learn his year has kind of sucked, but he's happy cause he's going back to Japan. (they moved him out of Japan after he re-enlisted last year). Yesterday, though, was mostly about going to class and starting to get some stuff that I need to do done. Today will be more of the same (once I get my butt off the computer...).
I've been playing some Diablo II in the background, it's nice to just kill shit, but I'd really hoped that it would really take my mind of things, and it just doesn't quite do so, which is irritating.
Still waiting to hear from Dr. Lion - if she hasn't called me when Monday rolls around, I'm going to call her and see how "Operation: Evict the Jackass" is going.
Wednesday was spent hanging out all day. With the paper no longer a concern, I received a call fromcihuacoatl, and the two of us met up for lunch and talked about all manner of things, commiserated, considered being roommates (we decided no mutually), bought things at the Dollar Store, and other such things, and it was quite nice. Then, went over to Castle N and got dinner and hung out with kniedzw and moonartemis76. It was the first extended hanging-out type conversation with absolutely no gaming in it that I've had in as long as I can remember. :)
Monday and Tuesday were mostly spent coping, for I was largely too upset to be of much other use both days.
Today I intend to do some school work, but I'm not sure it'll actually happen. If it doesn't, I'm putting my self in a relatively crappy position for next week - I have assignments due on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Tuesday one is about making a database in Access (which I'm done with) which must then be compared to a database made in 4D (which I haven't even looked at). I'm about half way done. Then I have a 10-20 page paper due on Wednesday. I've started the research, which is to say I have some books checked out of the library, but other than that I've got nothing. I hate feeling this unprepared, and it'll be worse if I don't do anything today, because I'm busy all weekend. (Writing this, by the by, is my way of getting my ass in order so that I WILL get some work done. ;) Cause I was in the process of convincing myself that I was far too tired, and really it could wait another day, but, well, it just can't. ;) )
The weekend is consumed whole by games of various sorts; I'll give an update on Monday. Tonight is the final Hogwart's interlude before summer (and, perhaps, the final over all, though time will tell) - it probably won't be very long, but I imagine much hanging out will take place afterward. Tomorrow is locked up too, and then Sunday, of course, is Changeling. Busy!
