Oh, my wonderful internet!
May. 26th, 2006 05:33 pmWell, the internet is up and running! And the cable! Woohoo! My primary computer has ceased to function, though, so I'm still not at 100%. :) At least I have the laptop. :)
The trip to NYC was, over all a great deal of fun. I think I'm going through ER withdrawl, though. It's always nice to catch up with folk; I need to put more effort into touching base with more of the locals, though, there are people who I haven't seen (the Aaron's and Jeremy come to mind...though I'll see Jeremy at Gencon (note - different from my uncle Jeremy ;) ) ). Ate lots of yummy, yummy sushi (including one place that had a sushi platter of my three favorite kinds and no others, which was totally awesome) and tried some good curry (I'm starting to really like curry) and completed a shit-ton of sudoku. :)
Mom's recovery has been speedy. The first day I arrived was the first time she had left the house, really - walked four blocks with my uncle. By the time I left, she'd done a 16 block walk, which is almost a mile. This has hurt one of her legs a bit, so she's had to slow down and take it a bit more slowly, but the doctor was amazed by how fast she had been recovering. She has a doctor's appointment on June 2nd, at which time she will hopefully be cleared to ride in moving vehicles again.
Psychologically, she isn't doing quite as well. She's been very anxious. She's upset that she can't do more work, for example, even though she truly does have a most excellent excuse, and it's not as if she is being severely pressured from the outside; quite the contrary - as far as I can tell all of the involved parties are being infinitely forgiving.
Gar, day is going on! Other updates from the last week later, then, including: Changeling, the puppy (!!), etc.
