Some Good News

HEC won the Teaching American History grant that I did some work on. This isn't the crazy Early Childhood one that had me nuts a couple of months ago, but I did a fair amount of editting on it, and it's pretty awesome - 1 million dollars in federal money for the Bronx. :)

Edit: This is our fourth TAH grant, and we love winning them because they represent such a subversion of the intended purpose of these funds. The Teaching American History money is meant as a sort of conservative response thing, the money is meant to emphasize teaching AMERICAN history, that sort of thing, but we love winning them cause instead of using it in a conservative fashion, we use it to teach a really hands on history bit, getting kids access to museums and lots of cool stuff. :) So yeah. Here's to subversion! ;)

Well, like I said, this isn't the one I wrote and put a crazy number of hours into, this is a different one that I did several major editting runs on and rewrote small sections of. I did have a distinct hand in it's creation, though. :) (yay, resume!) ...I still don't actually think we are going to get the one that I wrote, not because I wrote it but because it's VERY competitive. If we do win it, I'll hold a celebration of some sort. :)

Bah. I refuse to listen to this argument. It's clearly that grant that you put hours and hours into working on. This I maintain, and you cannot dissuade me, for my will is mighty and my sanity lacking.
