More thoughts on sewing...

Just letting folks know, as with yesterday I'll be sewing tomorrow night and Tuesday night from whenever I get home (probably about 6 PM all said and done) until about midnight. Folk are welcome to join me; my number is in my previous post. I will be watching CSI while this is going on.

I shouldn't be surprised that it's not going as fast as I'd hoped. But of course, I'd hoped it'd go faster, so I'm a little distressed. I've finished the main part of the bodice (the goddamned binding tape took over a fricken hour, grumble grumble) which took ALL DAY yesterday, and still doesn't have the trim or the corsetted back, and so saying it's finished is, oh, a lie. Today I tackled the sleeves. WHY oh WHY do the sleeves need lining?? And why am I the kind of person who will make it even knowing it doesn't really make sense? Anyway, I got the sleeves sewed together and the lace gathered and attached (though it still needs to be spray painted or otherwise modified to be gold...)...so what's left?

-sleeve lining, attaching the sleeves.
-top skirt, and the bustle I intend to add with the extra fabric that I've got.
-second skirt
-slip (ie, third skirt)
-trim

So I don't think I'll be finished by Tuesday. Which makes things oh-so-grim. Because Wednesday is Contra. And Thursday is Concordia. And Friday is Buffy (which I'm SO not prepared for). And Saturday is...the game. At least check in isn't until like 5. That means I can work feverishly on Saturday in an effort to finish.

I wish I could sew today.

You were warned I'd be whining. ;)

Anyway, off to Aberrant. Where I can't really sew.

The bodice is always the worst. And corsetting the back won't be as bad as you fear. And skirts are never as bad as the bodice. I believe you can do it!

I know, I know - if it wasn't for this, I'd be totally freaked out - the bodice was 7 panels of three layers each with boning and such, on which I messed up two of the panels and had to start over...one of the skirts will be a little tough, because it has gathering and what-not, and the trim will be annoying, but I have finished about half in terms of time, I think.

I hope.

Thanks for the encouragement, though!! :) :)
