Yep, Barkn Buddies was in fact the first place I called. It's never a good sign when you ask "Do you have anything open for Christmas?" and they start laughing.
We're on a waiting list at our vet's, and we are also going to take Cody over to my old boss's house and see if he gets along with her dogs. If he does, she says she can take care of him while we are gone. But if he doesn't, my dad has reservations at a kennel in North Carolina. I am waiting to make a 100% commitment to coming out there until my parents have checked out the kennel in person, because I'm suspicious as to why the kennel not only has an opening but apparently had no problem getting him in. But I am not really thrilled in any case about having to take my dog on a 10 hour car ride and then put him in a strange kennel in a strange city just because Mom's little yap dogs are too ill-tempered to have him around, even if he stays in the garage. *sigh*
Anyway, long story short, good luck with finding Jonie accomodations!...
