0 to 60 in 24 hours.
Well, life went from being rather relaxed to being full throttle top speed in less than a day. Woot. Or something.
Last week was a truly wonderful week. It's been a while since I've really been able to say that. The party was fairly fun; the weekend over all was full of fun social type stuff, some Dr. Who watching, a lot of dancing, and some yummy cookies/other baked goods. I wasn't really in a dance-y mood, but I went for it anyway, and it was well worth it.
On Monday, I woke up and decided that my goal for the day was to not change out of my PJ's. I accomplished this, and it was oh-so-nice, and led into a week where I did pretty much nothing. I worked at the ALF for about 20 hours, but otherwise I sat at home, played some FFXII (though I didn't bit it despite my intentions otherwise) read a lot of manga, did a little shopping, and generally did whatever the heck I felt like. It was...really nice. The end of the week I managed to get a ton of sleep, too, and the end result was that I felt more like myself than I have in a long time. Saturday I headed out to drumming and sat on the couch antisocially and crocheted, which was also exactly what I wanted, and generally it was a good week. The game yesterday also went fairly well. Woot.
I got into cataloguing (L520) instead of L505, which makes me very happy; my student loan money came in, my Christmas money was enough to cover the small number of things that I'd really wanted but didn't get (read: enough to buy me the two seasons of DS9 I didn't already own), my iPod is functional and they let me listen to it at work, I may have a full time job possibility that would enable me to stay in Bloomington (assuming that I don't get into the school in Boston - if I get into the school I'm moving anyway, it's not a very good full time job. ;) ) and generally, things just went right. :)
Cut to today. The RFP for the Teaching American History grant game out this morning. HEC is writing either three or four of these; I'll be writing at least one myself, and certainly doing work on the others. If we are doing four, I'll be writing two. In a way, the timing is EXCELLENT, cause I can start working on them immediately, not when they are due in a week and I have other work that needs to get done. (they are due in early March) Another grant will be coming out soon (21st Century Community Learning Centers) and we'll be writing at least two of those, and we might be doing the Early Childhood grant that we did last year again, plus a Science Professional Development grant. Basically, HEC is gonna be busy! :)
I'm in two classes - cataloguing...which I had today. Kimoji seems nice. The class was boring, but, then, all classes are boring. I think I'm going to like it, though, I'm anal and attentive to detail. :) The work load looks heavy but it could be worse - it could be 505. I haven't had my other class yet, but it's a rare books class with Joel at Lilly, and I don't expect it to be much more than a joke.
Toss in the 20 hours a week at the ALF, and, well, I think it's gonna be a busy semester. But I'm graduating. Still, I'm actually kind of excited about it. I actually do kinda feel that my batteries have been recharged a bit. How the heck did that happen? Hopefully this feeling will last more than a week... :)
I haven't eaten since breakfast, so I'm gonna run, but a brief request for advice:
Should I switch to a schedule that would allow me to sleep in on Monday mornings but force me to work 8 hours straight (as in, no breaks at all) for two days a week?
I kind of think I should. I'm up late on Sunday's far too often...
Later all! :)
