So every number of years, I start thinking about cutting my hair short. The last time was in the Spring of 2001, and before that in 1995. But apparently it's come again. However, it's a big decision, it takes years for my hair to grow back if I cut it short (about 4 years to get it back to it's current length, maybe 3). So here's the question I want opinions from ya'll on:

Should I cut my hair short?

Short is about chin length - not long enough for a pony tail.

I want to hear what you think, and why! :)

(I'm leaning heavily towards cutting it, though I can't say why...)

I thing it might be a nice change, and you can always grow it back. Go for it!

Dunno. It's a tough question, since I've never seen you with short hair.

That said, it's sort of the position that I'd be in if I ever cut my hair short. Very few of my friends remember what I looked like with short hair, as I've had the current length for about eleven or twelve years. Heck, Bryn hasn't even seen me with short hair.

That said, if you feel like it, go for it. As [livejournal.com profile] nekomata said, it'll grow back....

My hair and I will abstain from this discussion. (;

If you feel like doing it, you should do it. You'll come up with a reason eventually, or you won't, but if it's something you want to do then you'll probably be happy with it.

(In other words, whenever i've cut off or grown out my hair i've just sort of wanted to do it, and it's always worked well for me. Reasons are for other people, and they don't have to wear your hair.)

A bit of a trim might be good for job searching, but whether or not to go all the way . . . if you do, go to a really good hair person to get a really stylish cut.

I missed my long hair, but the shortish hair looks more professional.

As someone who also gets random urges to do things to her hair (cut it, dye it, dye it outrageous colors), I understand the urge. If you want to do the change, now is the time. Makes it easier to blow dry or air dry so it doesn't freeze or cause you to get a cold while out in the winter weather. And it should be long enough for a ponytail by the time warmer weather returns. Plus you get those weird "who IS that?" moments as you catch your reflection over hte next couple of days.

I think you have a lovely face for short hair!

Here are some longer short hairstyles:

But I think you'd look adorable with one of the new pixie cuts.

Also, really long hair doesn't really do much for anybody, in my opinion. It just kind of hangs there, or is worn back in an unflattering ponytail. I've always found it a curious vanity, considering how much better most people look with their hair cut/shaped/layered into some kind of style.

You would look good either way. I wouldn't do it, because I did when I was a college freshman and I've never been able to get my hair to that length again; something to do with the way my hair has changed as I've aged. But that's my hair, and not yours! And I think your hair is beautiful right now, but if it's what you want to do, go for it! I think it would look cute either way.

If you want a stylist recommendation, I have one that I really like that I go to, but he is out at the Finishing Touch in Columbus (IN) which is a rather long way to drive. But I'll be happy to pass along his contact info if you want. I actually don't think he's taking new clients right now, but his brother is, and his brother is just as good....

I wouldn't. I think you would look cute with short hair, but I also think that you have unusually gorgeous hair and it would be a shame to waste it. Also, it is true that it probably won't grow as long again- mine used to be long enough to sit on, and it really doesn't grow much past my waist any more.

It's your hair, your body, do what you will. :) You're very attractive and sexy and you will look good no matter what. :)

Girl hair is a big turn-on for me, as long as it's not toooo short. I tend to think girls with short boy-length cuts look pretty much like boys. But a little big longer (say somewhere between super-short and shoulder-length) and it's sexy again. But that's a matter of personal taste. You have beautiful hair, so I think you might as well keep enough of it around to look feminine.
