Good News

So the pieces for next year are starting to fall in to place. Today, my immediate superior found out that she got the job she applied for at the Smithsonian, so she will be moving to Washington, D.C., in two months. Within 10 minutes of her telling her boss this, I told him that I intend to apply for her position. There's still resumes, interviews, and all that jazz to be done, but the department likes to promote internally, and he suggested that my chances were pretty good.

This means that when I find out for sure that I didn't get into NBSS yet (99% likely, I'd say) and have to wait to apply again until next year, I can make a move and have a good chance of success getting a full time position in my field right here in Bloomington.

Needless to say, I'm fairly excited about this. :) I might not have to leave after all!

And it set my mind at ease far more than I would have thought it would. Now I just need all the pieces to actually fall in to place, and I'll feel a lot better. ;)

Of course, if I actually, against all odds, get in to NBSS, I'll of course still be going to Boston...and if I don't get this position, I'll have to do something else with meself...

Needless to say I would miss you so GHEE!!!! I hope you get to stay here another year, make money, work in your field, LARP, and enjoy yourself!! Or hey, you getting into your dream would be good too. My fingers are crossed for your best happiness and thanks for the good news!!! :)
