I saw Stardust yesterday, and thought it was utterly delightful and wonderful. I'm prepared to state, though not defend, the blasphemy of saying I found it to be about on par with the Princess Bride - which is a movie I really like, but is not a cherished childhood memory for me. :)

Hence, I find this weekend box office $ list if be very sad. Stupid people in our country! Stupid underadvertised awesomeness!!

I saw plenty of advertisements for Stardust. They just weren't good advertisements. Like I said yesterday, it's hard to advertise something that subverts the type while not being an out-and-out parody, as it doesn't fit into the trailer/tv spot format very well, especially with an 'everything and the kitchen sink' film like The Princess Bride or Stardust.

The film does deserve to do very well, though. That's for sure.

Yeah I agree...I didn't see an advertisement for Rush Hour 3 at all.

I wish I could say I was kidding.

Maybe they just thought they'd make 50mil no matter what, but that movie coulda hit the stratosphere if morons like me even knew it was open :\
