Brief Notes

First, I arrived safe and sound, and was delighted to find it's not as hot here. I'll write more about doin' stuff when I've done more, I've only been here 24 hours.
Second, I think I misjudged why I felt like garbage on Saturday, since I now have a sinus infection which is messing with my balance and has my feeling stuffed up.

Third, and the actual reason I'm posting this, because I'm damn proud, last night my novel crossed 100,000 words. OMG!! It's winding it's way slowly but surely towards some sort of conclusion - heck, I even think I'm starting to know what that conclusion is. :) I haven't written every day I've been away, but I've written on most, and I made up for the two days I missed with interest. :) I'd stop, but at this point I'm afraid to, I think. I can't stop now!!! :)

Anyway, I'd better go, this is a public terminal and I'm being charged per half hour and my first half hour is almost up. ;)

Congratulations on the novel and the safe arrival!

100K feels like a pretty tremendous amount, don't it? :-)

...yeah, it really really does. It's funny, too, it's harder to make myself write only 750 now, because I feel like I'm getting closer. Last night, I finally blew up everything, it's been building for the last 20k words, definitely, and since the beginning even...the best part is I already know how it's going to get fixed, though that's still a ways off. :) I like be writing, I have the power to bring disaster. ;)

Thanks. :)

Is there a reason to keep yourself to 750 a day?

I almost always speed up in the last stretch. On the rare occasions when I haven't, it's been a bad sign about the state of the novel.

Congratulations! :-D

Well, I write over the limit ANYWAY, invariably - my average has been close to 1k recently...but if I write much more than that, I start to pull way ahead of how fast I figure out what is going. Anyway, while I'm traveling, there are other problems too...I probably won't be able to write more now until I get back, not because I don't want to but because my laptop's battery is done and for no reason I can figure out none of the outlets in my hotel room. Grumble grumble. Maybe I'll pick up a pen...but probably not. When I'm back home...I imagine I'll speed up. Maybe a lot. :)
I'll admit, the eagerness is a nice feeling, especially since it doesn't seem to be related to how I feel otherwise on a given day. :)

Thanks. :)

Thanks...I'm trying to take care of myself, but it's not easy to do that and still get the most out of my trip. ;)

Ah, okay. This is (in my opinion) the absolute best reason to write more slowly -- because, of course, it's the reason I write more slowly. You had managed to give me the impression, though, that you know the next several bits well enough that it might be the right time to speed up. If not, then carry on. ^_^
