Since I'm wide awake anyway - and I mean WIDE awake - I thought I'd go ahead and tackle one the things that was floating in my brain while I was attempting and failing to fall asleep. Now that I finished the novel (hehehe, I finished the novel! yay!) I've got a few WIP's I want to tackle. The first is the write up of [livejournal.com profile] buzzermccain and [livejournal.com profile] saracariad's Hogwarts game that I started writing more than 2 years ago - it feels like coming full circle, after a fashion, since writing that was what first got me using LJ regularly. Anyway, as far as I know every bit of that story has been shared on my journal, so I thought I'd make a master post pointing towards those old story bits, and that I might as well keep sharing it while I was at it - a lot of people on my F List now didn't know me back then, so they might find it interesting, I don't know.

As a brief introduction, this story is based very directly off of a LARP in which I participated, obviously from the PoV of my character, and the events that it relates were in game ones, so the other characters are all those of my friends. The setting is at Hogwarts School during World War 1, in 1914, and the challenges that this conflict is causing the school. I recall being pretty happy with how the write up was going, but I haven't looked at it in some time. :)
Note that some of these are very short. ;)

Lastly, this link is for me, since the post is locked to private, and I don't intend to unlock it, but if I save the link here I won't have to scare it up. This link leads to a private post in which I sketched out all the things that are supposed to happen after this. It's upsettingly barebones; it was enough of a reminder when events were still relatively fresh, but now it's been almost 2 years since the game ended, and I fear I'll be making up a lot of details instead of remembering them. Annoying, but I guess it can't be helped. Still, looking at it and making myself really concentrate, already the details are filling themselves in. It'll have to be enough....wait.
Edit: I've just made it public. I had a thought:
[livejournal.com profile] sapphohestia, [livejournal.com profile] drake_rocket, [livejournal.com profile] buzzermccain, [livejournal.com profile] saracariad, [livejournal.com profile] caius_serence, [livejournal.com profile] dyrecorn, [livejournal.com profile] drydem, [livejournal.com profile] d_c_m, [livejournal.com profile] closetgnome, [livejournal.com profile] deadmanwade, [livejournal.com profile] kendokamel [livejournal.com profile] lightwhispers, [livejournal.com profile] neurotic_llama?
Keeping in mind that this is from Delia's PoV, can ya'll think of anything I might have missed? Many of you probably won't ever see this post, but I know some of you are still around LJ land sometimes...in particular, details of the ball (that's all you, Sappho and Dyrecorn...though if d_c_m or drydem could remember any of the awesome cutting dialogue they were part of, that'd rock too...) would be great. I'm remembering more and more, and I can't promise to incorporate what others do remember, but it could be way helpful nonetheless...like, names of Fred's candies, or...oh, I don't know. I'm starting to babble. Maybe I should try to go to sleep again. ;) Thanks either way, folks. It was so much fun, I just want to capture as much as I can, but I have to be faithful to my first person PoV, too...(end edit. :) )

All in all, according to the compiled version I've got in word, the story is currently 49 pages long, and a total of 31,068 words. Which, thinking on it, means it's not all that much shorter than it should be in the current Ni90 round - we should be at 47,000 or so by tomorrow, I think. Okay, it is kind of far behind. But that's okay. ;)

On the plus side, all of this has reminded me of another Work in Progress that I definitely want to get back to; it was a story I stopped working on when I realized that I had NO CLUE AT ALL what was going to happen next. It's all in LJ too, back there when I used to still post my writing up here. ;) Maybe now I'll be able to figure it out. But this comes first.
Huh. It's a good thing I did this. There are two more entries posted in LJ than were included in the word document version. Now that would have been annoying to learn later... :)
