Hey White Wolf-y People...

A question to those who know anything about White Wolf. So I started poking around on google looking for a LARP to join, and I found, awesomely, a Changeling LARP starting next week. That's good, right? The problem is that I'd have to join the Camarilla to play. So, folks who actually know about these things, is this a bad idea on my part?

If it's a Cam Changeling game, it'll be new Changeling, so that's one thing. Another thing is that in the Cam, long-standing players will have a bajillion more points than you, and since it's a massive-geography continuity game, you may have to deal with traveling twinks from everywhere. But since you're in NYC anyways, the game is quite possibly going to be immense anyways.

But it's totally worth trying out. They aught to let you play a time or two without having to join the Cam, make sure the game is your cup of tea.

Game will be immense, you will have a weak character VERY limited options, it's nuChangeling and there's a yearly due.

That said, if that's your cuppa, have at it!

A bunch of us are in the Bloomington Cam Changeling game. It's actually a lot of fun. The new version of Changeling is infinitely better than the old and despite there being people with "a bajillion more points than you," it really doesn't matter all that much. We're starting characters and have pretty much all the power in the game. The Cam will allow you to play for six months before requiring you to join the group, but even still, the dues are only 20 bucks a year. It has been a really great experience so far and I'm glad I quashed my dislike of the Cam to join this game.

Give it a try! I'm not a huge fan of the new Changeling story but hey, I joined the Cam and will probably maintain my membership just 'cause I'm a LARPing geek and proud. :)
