Guess I'm in Shape

Keeping in mind that fitness is highly relative, I think I have to acknowledge that I'm more in shape than I thought. After slacking off due to high volume of work, I went out this morning with the purpose of moving for an hour. My goal was to try to jog as much as I walked. I figured I'd jog 5 minutes, get tired, walk 5 minutes, repeat. I haven't exercised in an organized fashion for a month and I haven't jogged since summer, and remembering how hard it was in summer when I started, I thought that was reasonable. Instead, I got out, walked for about a minute, and then started jogging, and didn't stop for 50 minutes! I'm pretty severe on myself about fitness and weight, but even I think that if I can just randomly jog for 50 minutes I must be doing better than I imagined. So right now I feel pretty good! Except for the soreness, the aches, and the general omg I'm tired. ;)

Wow, that is awesome. I am positive that jogging for 50 minutes would cause a lot more than soreness if I tried it. Good for you! :)

That's what I thought too. Maybe you should give it a try?

Heehee! I should!

Wow. I tried to get back into running this week and had to stop after 20 mins.

Girl, you are hardcore.

Thanks! I couldn't believe it! I mean, snails pace, but still. :) But stick with it - you can do it!

Wow, 50 minutes?! Awesome! :-D

I'm still excited about it.

Woot! Iron Woman!

This is my shameful confession for the day: On Friday I thought I was coming down with the flu - horrible stabbing pains in my stomach, aching back, etc. I almost went home early. It wasn't until 9 pm that I realized what was really wrong with me: I'd done sit ups the night before.

Oh dear! Well, keep at those crunches! :)

congrats!! I was just about to write to ask you how the jog went. Did you route take you by that delicious bakery? :-P I'll back at it on the treadmill this Thursday at my crazy trekking course.

Keep it up! I was kicking myself for not joining you on your jog -- I brought my workout clothes -- but I didn't think of it until Pennsylvania.

I actually didn't end up going to Crumbs; instead, I got ice cream. :)
