Next stop arrived at safely. The weather is frankly wretched, cold and raining but mom and I (having successfully met and checked into our hotel) decided to brave it and went to the local museum of modern art (The Museum Ludwig). It was...well...it was filled with modern art, which I don't like much, but she really wanted to go, and there was one neat thing there, in an exhibit of local artists, a German named Gern Arntz who did awesome woodblock prints. And then there was apple strudel, and it was oh-so-good, especially all delicious and warm after the cold unpleasant rain.

Anywhere, there's more to do here than I expected - enough to fill the three days I've got left here, certainly - and Kolner Dam (Cologne Cathedral), a monumental structure that was begun in the 13th century and took 600 years to finish, ranks as the most impressive building of it's kind that I've EVER seen - Notre Dam doesn't even hold a candle to it, truly, it's spectacular. Unfortunately, all of my current shots are of course gray and dreary; it's going to rain tomorrow, too - I just hope it clears up before we leave on Monday so I can take some better pictures!

Speaking of pictures, a bunch of my Amsterdam ones are uploading now, but the connection here is quite slow, and none of them are labeled or sorted yet, so I strongly suggest that ya'll don't wander over to my Flickr account just yet; I'll sort things all out and label everything and then post the link, and probably a few specific recommendations as well. Lastly, my current location has both power outlets I can use and internet, so my computer use will probably be increasingly, because there's not much else to do in the evening. :)

Sounds like an excellent time, over all. What's a bit of rain when you have fantastic architecture and tasty apple strudel? I mean really.. sounds great. I do hope you get a bit of sun for some nice pics though. Enjoy yourself! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing them.

Thanks. :) I got lots of sun in Amsterdam, which was very nice, but so far it looks like my Cologne pics will in fact be against a cloudy sky - which has it's perks, glare ruined a lot of shots. ;)

small update on your puppy: she says hi and hopes that you hurry home. she and mulan are playing 'nicely'.

also, if you are thinking of getting a fan for your apartment, i will warn you now that she is skittish around them. on or off.

the world is good and your dog still skinny. =)

lol, if she gets chubby that's okay. I'm more worried about her freaking out and bolting for the hills - and there are a lot of hills around Binghamton. :) So thanks for the report.

Isn't she cute when she's being skittish? I think she's adorable when she does that. ;)

How goes the packing?

I'll have pictures up soon. I can't stop taking them, it's like a mountain of stone, only all carved and man made.
