Home, For Real

I'm home, and I don't have to leave immediately this time. Once again, I'm overly tired, too, though I have far less excuse this time since there is no jet lag involved.
I had a nice time in Indiana over all, though some unexpected car problems and a bout of feeling lousy caused some problems, including forcing me to stay a day longer than planned (not that I'm complaining, really). It was really spiffy to get to see people, and my nefarious plan was successful, in that I managed to coordinate my trip to coincide with visits by
sapphohestia and
buzzermccain, thus sparing me from having to make many other trips (though I still ended up looping to Chicago, which wasn't the way things were supposed to go at all). The big downside was that I didn't end up going to
d_c_m's party after all because I wasn't feeling well, and as a result I missed out on seeing some of the people I wanted to see who I was only going to encounter there. This was further compounded by not feeling good laziness, in which I sat on the couch instead of saying hi to a few other people.
Over all, there was a great deal of talking and hanging out and not all that much doing stuff, though I did get my beloved Cookie Monster sundae, and we went to the movies twice - I've now seen Incredible Hulk (shirtless Ed Norton = hot) and Iron Man (snarky Robert Downey Jr. = hot). There was ice cream and yummy food, X-Files and random gaming, and lots and lots of catching up, learning about weddings and engagements and break ups and gossip and all that kind of thing.
Yesterday, I drove to Binghamton largely without incident and made excellent time, almost exactly 11 1/2 hours. I took
mistress_sin out to dinner (her boy didn't want to come, dang him to heck!) and then went back to her place and went immediately to sleep. We chatted briefly this morning, too, before I hopped in the car and drove home. Here's to fast driving. :)
I've got a bunch of things to do, so I can't linger, but I'm also mentioning that now that I'm back "the plan" takes effect - which is to diet between now and Gencon and see if that actually accomplishes anything.
moonartemis72 recommended the Glycemic Index Diet to me, which from all I know appears to be well balanced and reasonable and potentially more effective than flat calorie counting. I'll be tracking my progress for my own edification weekly, starting now.
Weight (as of yesterday): 163 pounds
Measurements (as of 10 minutes ago)
Bust: 38"; Waist: 34"; Hips: 43"
Pants size: 10
My goal (not by Gencon) is to get my waist measurement down below 30". I think this is more reasonable to measure than weight, etc., which can be variable depending on fitness. Ideally, though, I'd love to weigh about 140 lbs. I'd say my goal by Gencon is to see if I can't drop a pants size - but I don't want to get my hopes up, because I've had so much trouble losing weight the last year and a half. However, this diet isn't all that different from what I do normally and it seems very healthy and balanced, so I don't think it'll hurt to switch even if I don't lose any weight.
moonartemis72 has bet me "something fun" if I can lose 10 pounds by the con, but I anticipate nothing.
Now, errands!
