I'm super busy with work right now, but the client is being a huge pain in the butt. On Friday, he said he'd call me Monday morning. When he finally called on Tuesday morning, he swore I'd hear from him again on Tuesday afternoon. When he finally called on Wednesday morning, he promised to call back on Wednesday afternoon. And 45 minutes ago when he spoke to mom, he said he'd call me 10 minutes.

Clearly, he lives in some sort of bizarre, temporal loop that I'm not a part of. Which is a really pity, since he wants us to write a grant that I haven't started yet, have never done before, and is due in 8 days.

Haha, it's funny. I have a client that's JUST like that. He called me a little over 2 weeks before the deadline, asking about his tax returns. I said that we were working on them, and to call back next week on the progress. He proceeds to drop by, unannounced the following week, demanding to know where his tax returns were. I told him to call next week, and we should have them ready before the deadline. He never calls. A week passes by, and he calls me Monday, asking what happened with his returns! I told him they were done a while ago, and to come in later that day. He never shows. He still hasn't shown up yet :-P And the most frustrating thing about this whole thing is that he doesn't have a working phone line, and several addresses!! So we can't just call him to remind him, OR just send his stupid returns to him :-P

Yeah, it's now been two hours and he still hasn't called, and I'm sitting here quietly seething.

Sounds like your fellow is blowing it about as much as mine - they're both running the risk of major financial implications...

Probably not, we're a little cash strapped right now (not the in danger of folding kind of cash strapped, but the no excesses kind ;) ), and we won't get any more money in until the new year in all likelihood. But we'll manage, and hopefully it'll pay off in the long term. It's gonna be a long week, though.

It sounds like you need to less than politely call him up and remind him of what his responsibility is to you, lest he fuck himself hard.

I did call him. Repeatedly. Their fricken voicemail system is totally gimped (you enter the extension you need, and a few seconds later it routes you straight back to the root menu), and his cell phone gets shitty reception more or less everywhere. He did finally call me, at 5 PM, and when he did, he said he'd check something and call me back "in a minute." Yeah, that hasn't happened.

Sorry you're pissed. I'm mostly just tired.
