On the same day when some of my friends celebrate the impending reality of a pilot to a Game of Thrones tv show, I have received news that makes me equally happy - the very distant possible reality of a series of Wheel of Time movies. It feels like a tease, but it still makes me happy. See also...

I can't conceive of how they'd do a Wheel of Time movie without doing 1:1 Movie to Book. And that couldn't work because they're are too many books, but you can't combine books for a single movie because they're all thematically different. I've worked myself into a sadness =(

I'm not sure how Wheel of Time movies would work either. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Where'd you find info on the Game of Thrones TV show? And how the heck can they do that when it isn't finished yet?

Of course, three movies seems... below the low end for what would be required. I always thought the only way it could be done well was a miniseries, and even then... when you have something like 12,000 pages of source, 3/4 of which tends to be -directly- relevant to major plots, that's rough.
