Well, the busy weekend is sort of over, kind of, I guess...okay, maybe not. Right before the holiday's is always so busy, but in an awesome way, cause like people who are students finally have some time to mess around, and I love Christmas and Chanukah and stuff, weeeeeee presents. Anyway...

The plan is to write a bit more about the stuff I did, cause it was much fun!! I've had a pretty good weekend over all, so yay!

Thursday was carolling with Sara and folk. I set an alarm, got my butt outta bed, and headed over to Sara's at about 10 AM. The previous night she and I went shopping and ingredients for much yummy food, and we spent all day cooking, including a gingerbread house, cathedral, and crucified gingerbread Jesus. It's in the spirit of the season, I mean it. After all the baking and making a mess and fun stuff, we headed out for a night of carolling, which (as I believe I already wrote) was awesome and something I'd always wanted to do. After that, we headed back to Sara's and sat and munched on food and hung out and talked and stuff till fairly late at night, at which point we headed back.

Friday was cleaning all day. I'm embaressed to admit that despite frequent bouts of straightening and consistent washing of dishes, we hadn't actually cleaned the house (ie, scrubbed floors, wiped sinks and bathtub, etc.) since we moved in in Sept. So it was vaguely important to me that I disinfect things, which I did with great gusto on Friday. This was done in anticipation of having the first table top game in our house thus far! Yay table top games! Yay gaming with people who are actually *in the room with you* as opposed to our bizarre-ass chat room gaming with folk in Binghamton. Yay ordering pizza and stuff. So anyway, folks came over and much avatar-y fun was had. The power sets for everyone were pretty fricken sweet, and I love the fact that (in addition to the afore mentioned Harlequin) I can also call a unicorn! And jeeves' (only, like, two people who read this know about the jeeves'...oh well)! It's totally spiffy. And everyone has to suffer through my lousy english accent, hehehehe. Hey, it's not my fault...I won't be held responsible. It's nice to hang out with people and table top again...I mean, LARPing is fun and all, but it's just not the same...

Saturday saw the conclusion of the cleaning. I also started wrapping Christmas presents. (I need to do more of that...somehow it just doesn't feel pressing yet, which is strange, since it's like 5 days till we leave...) Then people showed up for the Bloomington HS tie-in game, which I got to play. Once again, much fun. As I believe I said, there's nothing quite like a game where actions can be justified by saying that it's what would have happened on the WB. Also, of course, it means everyone is playing stereotypes...it's always fun to play stereotypes. I'm a the-truth-is-out-there goth girl chick who people tend not to notice much (ahh, arcane...) ...it's a little tough to play a goth girl through the lense of teen drama - not sure I'm pulling it off, but at least I'm having fun! ;) And I love other peoples characters, too, it's really come together well. Anyway, after the game was Daniel's party. I had much more fun than I ever expected too(I don't think of myself as a "party person" but I'm becoming more and more of one, I think). We stayed pretty much until the end, and much fun was had, there was yummy food, dancing, off-color jokes, topless girl pillow fighting, mistle toe, and a great deal of alcohol (though I only had a very very little bit of vodka). I can honestly say I'm looking forward to the next party! I never thought I'd say something like that. Though I intend to keep my shirt this time. ;)

Sunday was, of course, the Changeling game. I had a good game over all. Being the happy little boggan that I am, I had great fun ambushing people with yule gifts of peanut butter fudge, bunnies (only special people get bunnies...you know who you are...) or my small number of personalized gifts (my favorite of which definitely being a mouse in a box which was delivered to Dante with the request that he pass it on to the "Goddess of Magic" ...ah, owl pooka...filthy, lying owl pooka...). I only received a few gifts, but as I kept saying to people, it's all about the giving, not the receiving. ;) I'm looking especially forward to attempting to learn to use the gift that Grendel bestowed, deciding that giving me the gun with which he attempted to shoot the Count was delicious irony. ;) Anyway, I had lots of fun running after people bestowing gifts, lots and lots of fun being cute with Dino, and generally a good time with everything I did! Even almost getting busted by the cops! :)

Well, today's not done yet, but I'm sleepy and stuff so I'm just gonna babble about what has happened thus far. Woke up far to early this morning (times before 8AM should not exist, dang it) and drove to Indy to see the LoTR exhibit awesomeness. I LOVED the costume work and the swords and the shields and the models and well everything...I want to make something SO BAD right now, just start...crafting...but I don't really have the time, money, or the brain capacity at the moment, so it's just not to be. ;) As for the rest of the day...who knows? ;)

Anyway, that's lots of self-agrandizing nonsense, but I'm very very sleepy so I feel like I have an excellent excuse. I need to bug a certain ST for certain riddles that have been promised to me...once they have been procured, I promise there will be more Hogwarts Game writing. ;)

Yeah I know- the LOTR display completely kicks ass, doesn't it? I, too, have the urge to craft... I'm thinking about doing one of the crowns of the "kings of men" or a close relation- I don't have a crown prop yet...
