Done with classes for the semester, yay!

3 papers and 1 final exam left. Goal: Finish two of the papers by Monday, then study for the exam, try to be done with everything by Wednesday night. May not succeed. (things due: this Friday, next Wednesday, next Friday)

Need to remember to get a kennel for the dog.

Wish I could do the music meme, it's fun, but my mp3's are on the system that doesn't work. :(

When did I start thinking of 9:30 as sleeping in?

Congrats [livejournal.com profile] gollumgollum, and anyone else who has achieved something totally awesome like she has. :)

"A man sees another man with a fine coat, and he straightway thinks he, too, will have a coat of that same make and pattern. Never does it occur to him to gauge the stature or character of the man who was first wearing the coat. There is yet a good deal of the monkey and the ape left in us. We seem to do our best to stifle our individualitry, and reduce our souls to one sad dead level of accursed and wicked imitation. Some day we shall have our eyes opened, and then see that a man may break the whole of the Ten Commandments at once, and yet he shall be saved if he be not vulgar, and it is both senseless and vulgur to copy old bindings on to modern books."

Written in 1897 in "The Private Library" by A.L. Humphrey's. The entire purpose of this diatribe is to persuade people not get their books lavishly bound. Seriously. :)

Edit: Found another winner.
"Then there is the full-fleded professional staff member who gets mending because somebody has to do it. Some of these, like myself, get fascinated by the job, and to their inspired suggestions from all across the country many of the ideas in this book are due. Others remain immune and unhappy, waiting as patiently as possible for the day when somebody new gets hired onto whom they can dumb the job. It's just possible that some of these, if trapped or badgered into reading this, will catch fire. I sort of hope so. You don't know what you're missing, kids."

Written in 1956 by Brooke Byrne in an incredibly cute book entitled "Mending Books is Fun." I want this book. It's AWESOME in a way only things from the 50's can be. :) I just added it to my Christmas list. :)
