Weight Thoughts, Political Thoughts
Oct. 8th, 2008 09:32 amI weigh about 160 pounds. I've weighed about 160 pounds for around 2 years now (with a dip down to 150). Today, I put on a pair of jeans that I haven't worn in a long while, and they fit me with room to spare. 2 years ago, this pair of jeans didn't fit me at all (they wouldn't close). A year ago, when I was about 155 pounds, they were snug. Now, I'd say they're about a size too big - I can put both hands in the waist line while wearing them and still have room to spare.
Ok, srsly, body, wtf?
I mean, not that I mind, it's rather proof of my supposition that all the exercising really does make a significant difference even if it hasn't had an effect on the scale, but still...oh, I don't know. All this post really is anyway is an attempt to distract myself from the way the world economy is collapsing, and it's not really helping. (Like the way world markets are seesawing after interest rates were cut, or the way that Dow, S&P, and Nasdaq opened down more than a percentage point, though at the moment, they're catching up...wait, the Dow just went positive! First time I've personally seen that in three days of watching the ticker. Of course, that means it's probably doing exactly what it did yesterday, rallying early only to plung 3 percent in the last hour...oh, this article is interesting...). Right! Damn pair of pants!
Edit: Also, for some post-debate reality check, see FactCheck.org.
