Today is Our Independence Day!

Happy 4th of July, Everyone!
(yay, fireworks!!)

This year, they've moved the fireworks display to the west side, and I have plans to handle things a bit unorthodoxly. A guy I work with tells me that you can get a neat view from the George Washington Bridge, which is only 8 blocks from my apartment, and this year it should be even neater, because this year they're on the West Side. It'll be a slightly strange view - first, because I'll be nearly 3 miles uptown from the display, and partly because they'll be oriented for viewing by people facing east or west, whereas I will be facing south - but I don't really feel like dealing with a huge crowd, so I thought this would be fun. Hopefully, it will be! :)

Well...there will probably still be a crowd, but I'll get there a couple hours early, which will hopefully help. ;) And at least I won't have to take the equally crowded train home, I can just walk.
