I'm just writing a brief post to say that the Hogwarts Game was completely spiffy yesterday. As usual, I managed to avoid getting involved in most of the metaplot (not on purpose!) which I never mind in that game, cause there are always people to interact with, but it was especially spiffy yesterday cause dear Marcus managed to avoid getting roped in as well, so [livejournal.com profile] drake_rocket and I managed to spend a high percentage of the gaming session wallowing in the immense cuteness of teenage Victorian courting. Still managed to get in a bit of plot too - basically, spent the entire game building up to "the kiss" (which almost no one saw! :) ) and then went to defend the school, and got turned into a werewolf. I really, really hope we can do a table top game to tie up the end of stuff for those of us who stayed "behind," because while it's all well and nice to say that it all works out, I know I for one feel there is enough potential for spiffy roleplay that I'd just as soon not gloss over it if it can be helped. :) Also, I like the game to much. :) And I just got deja vu really bad while typing that last bit. How strange.

Divination teacher: "Hmm...holding the portal open will result in my death."
Phineas Nigellus (currently deceased): "Well, it happens to the best of us."
(I can feel in my bones that it's not as funny out of context, but it was so fricken funny in context that dammit I'm gonna quote it anyway...we'll miss ya lots, Phineas...one of my favorite NPC's ever...)

I saw the kiss and both OC and IC thought it was very cute and sweet! You both were so adorable all day long. I just wanted to pat you both on the head.

I'm hoping that we do get to tabletop major events that will pass while the others are gone. There's too much there to just let it be kind of *poof* here's how the world is now when they all come back.

I'm so sorry that I turned you into a werewolf :( how come I can never make chops for big important things that work in PC favor, but when it comes time to play the big bad NPC, somehow I'm a paper-scissors-rock badass? Argh...

But much fun, and it will be interesting to see how things turn out...

Seriously, don't worry about it. I LOVE triumph through adversity. My favorite parts of the book are always the places where the main character or some character I like gets the shit kicked out of them, or gets his heart broken, or has some other horrible trauma occur, and yet wins through and everything turns out okay anyway. I've often thought this makes me weird, cause, well, pain is bad, but that's where it is. I would have happily gotten my butt kicked by the werewolfs, but failing that I think being turned into a werewolf is a totally awesome opportunity. :)
