Jason and I just wanted to say thanks to everyone. We really, really appreciate all the support, sympathy, advice and whatnot.

We filed a police report. They said that in a way it was very good that a lot of the items were a. valueless to other people and b. very distinctive, and that there was actually a chance (though not a very good one) that we might get some of it back. Still, neither of us are silly enough to get our hopes up. It was amusing to file in my report that I had two books entitled "Changeling" and CD's entitled "Nyao," "Help Computer Mix," "Kiroro no Mori," and other fun geek stuff.

I called our car insurance company, and yes, the items would have been covered under Homeowners/Renter's Insurance, which I've been meaning to sign us up for since last August. Meaning to. Ah well.

All told, we've tallied up the value of the lost items to about $1200 - $1300. This is made up substantially of only a small number of the items. The CD's were about $700, including two import CD's from Japan that were $35 each, and numerous other punk compilations and such. We'll probably post a list soon. Fortunately, we'd ripped a substantially percentage (though not all) of them, so all is not lost. Jason's backpack was about $100 by itself. The other big thing was one I didn't remember until the evening - my camera was in the backpack. Consulting with my mom (since the camera was a gift and thus I didn't know how much it was), adding in how much we spent on a case and a memory card, that was about $300.

Over all, though, not that much of sentimental value was lost (he mix CD's are a sentimental thing for both of us, every mix we'd ever made pretty much was in the car, except my current mix - in my CD player in my coat, and Jason's current mix, in the car CD player, which was thankfully spared...also, my sewing and Jason's dice were only really of sentimental value) and things that just cost money are replacable.

Thanks again, you all are awesome. :)

And yes, we'd love music from people! We'll happily provide CD's, and heck we'd happily burn some of ours in exchange. ;)

I know exactly how you feel about the patches, my backpack had some buttons on it that are almost certainly irreplaceable. :( As for music, we're pretty eclectic...a lot of people have been offering, so we were thinking we'd ask for CD's of whatever people are into right now. And thanks. :)

Wurd, yo. I'll throw you together some cds, although i'm not very good at knowing whatever people are into. (; I can help with some of the punk stuff, though.
