Since people have been asking me, here's what I know as of yesterday about the housing thing...

Yesterday was the eviction hearing for the jackass. The judge told him that he has to get the hell out of the apartment, but gave him until May 14th to do so, so I'm kind of shit out of luck in terms of actually moving in until May 22nd (seeing as how I'll be in NYC the entire week around May 14th). However, Dr. Lion says she has a spare bedroom in her apartment proper that, for a few bucks, I could crash in starting pretty much any time. I think I'm gonna do that. [livejournal.com profile] buzzermccain has infinite patience and is totally awesome and I know she doesn't mind; that said, I think if I was in her position it'd be driving me nuts. And anyway...it feels "right." I dunno. It's just a hunch. So I'll talk to Dr. Lion, try to get a look at the place (probably tomorrow) and then I'll probably get my butt into said spare bedroom by, like, Monday or Tuesday.

Other than that, things are decent. I haven't heard anything more about my mom since Wednesday night. I'm kind of nervous about it, but Jeremy is never at home, and since I know he has laryngitis, I don't want to pester him too much. My brother and his wife will be arriving in NYC tomorrow, so once there are more care givers I imagine it'll be easier for me to find stuff out. That said, I strongly suspect this is a "no news is good news" sort of situation, in that it's largely inconceivable to me that I wouldn't be contacted in something really bad happened.

I'm more optomistic on the relationship front than I've been at any point since last Monday, which is a sort of nice feeling. The more I poke at "it" in my head, the less it bites my finger, which is exceedingly nice. Since fixing stuff is all about communication, I need to keep ransacking my brain to make sure that there aren't things I aughta be saying, and finding that there isn't really is rather nice, since I can't really think of a time (ever in my life) when I haven't had hidden things that I feared might be whispering truth in the back of my brain. There are a few whispers right now, but they are very easy to dismiss - those are the best kinds.

Saw Inside Man on Monday with [livejournal.com profile] deadmanwade. I thought it was pretty awesome (I love Clive Owen!) - I generally enjoy crime drama things. That said, there were two things that rather bugged me, but since both are spoilers I can't really go into detail. Let's just say I thought it had a couple of plot holes that could have been patched pretty easily - the most annoying kind, in my opinion, because small gaps like that bring down the quality of otherwise good movies.

Talked to my internship advisor on Monday. Sounds like things are working out just fine - though I still need to pay for the credits! - and like it'll work with my time. I mentioned that there were a couple of days I'd definitely not be able to be there (the week days of Origins and Gencon, though I didn't mention that part) and he said it wouldn't be a problem at all, there were days he'd be unavailable too. (I win! I don't need to pretend to have a family reunion like I've done when I've had to skip out of stuff in the past) It looks like it'll be mostly four hour mornings and afternoons, though I don't know exactly what I'll be doing yet. :)

Have generally had fun hanging out with people, getting my school work done (so close, just two more assignments and I'm free for the semester!)...I got a massage from [livejournal.com profile] saracaraid last night that was totally awesome (though my back still hurts a little!), had fun singing songs from the musical Titanic, went out to dinner and chit chatted with folk, all manner of things. :) The week got off to a shitty start, but things are definitely looking up.

Anyway, I should probably stop eating up the telephone line. :)

I like the music from Titanic! Otherwise, I'd not have been singing it, now would I. Jerk. :) Anastacia was okay, the music is sort of inane, though...pretty, but inane.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh theeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyy...
--built the ship Titanic to sail the ocean blue
They said it was the one that the water wouldn't go through
But on her maiden trip an iceberg hit the ship
It was sad when the great ship went down (way down)

*deep breath*
It was saaaaaaaaaaaaaaad!1 (so sad)
It was saaaaaaaaaaaaaaad!1 (too bad)
It was saaaaaaaa-aaaaad when the greeee-aaaaaat ship went down
To the bottom of the
See(husbands)eee(and wives)eee(little children lost their lives)eeea
It was saaaaaaaa-aaaaad when the greeee-aaaaaat ship went down

...Oh. Songs from the movie...

Dr. Lion says she has a spare bedroom in her apartment proper
The room is nice and is the main part of the home. It has its own bathroom and closet and Mom will leave you alone. The house is well insulated so it is cool and Mom (Dr. Lion) has some great books that I'm sure she will let you look at. Oh and I know you will be able to do laundry there and that is nice. Plus she has cats and if like cats, well they are characters. :)

I'm largely indifferent about cats. :)

Thanks much for the info!! The more I think about it, the more I think I'll go for it. :)

If you need it there is my apartment, with a very comfortable couch and wireless internet. But it sounds like you've got it all worked out. Cool.

Glad things seem to be looking up! Hopefully things will keep going well, and the way you want them...sorry to hear that the tenant is being such a pain, but it sounds like Dr. Lion has a good solution worked out!

Good luck with all of the end of semester nonsense! And with the internship stuff!

(And you are only indifferent about cats because you haven't met mine! Ask K, she'll tell you!) ;)

Are they really sweet, or really evil? :)

Really stupid, actually. Well, one of them is stupid, and the other one is slughtly visually impaired (severely cross-eyed). But also they are really well-disciplined. Not that I beat them or anything...I just don't believe that anything in my house (myself included) should be allowed dignity, or should be allowed to escape unscathed from unwarranted attacks upon one another's person. ;)

Occasionally they undergo self-inflicted pit fighting for our entertainment. This usually involves the big cross-eyed cat sitting on top of some piece of furniture and whacking the little stupid cat every time she tries to attack from below. They have definite personalities, these cats.

You'll have to come over and meet them sometime! (And if you still are not a big cat fan, that's okay...occasionally Jeremy and I will also pit-fight for our audience's entertainment, if we get to know you well enough!)
