Procrastination, lalala
May. 30th, 2006 01:29 pmI'm working on getting a handle on my recent bout of procastination. You know it's bad when I'm procrastinating really stupid shit, like posting what I did this weekend on LJ. The goal is to just do one thing at a time, though - I've got so much game writing to do!
Anyway...
Saturday, I woke up bright and early and took my pup to the vet (as already discussed). Then, at about noon
saracaraid,
dyrecorn and myself headed off to Geneva, Indiana to visit "Amishville." It was a long drive (about 3 and a half hours) made a bit unpleasant by the lack of air conditioning in the car, but ah well. There was a great deal of music, singing, and chit chatting.
Amishville was actually fairly nice. There are lot of people there (both Amish and otherwise) and also a lot of pets - Jonie was a bit nuts, though she eventually settled down when she realized that it was futile to try and get to meet everybody.
The concert started at 8 PM, and
saracaraid,
moonzie,
schenker28 and their bandmates rocked for a full two hours. They did a pretty awesome job overall, and I was glad that I went. They sang a lot of original songs, too, most of which were pretty good. I always find it amazing when people write music; it's not something I really think I could do well (though I don't actually know) and I love music so much that there is something magical about creating music so actively. Does that make any sense? Anyway, they were really awesome, and it was worth not getting home till 4 AM. Even though I'm still recovering.
The only real downside is that I wish that I'd gotten to have dinner that day - I've had an upset stomach since then, and I think that it might be because I got very little to eat or drink all day, though I'm not actually sure. :)
Well, Sunday was another busy day. Headed out to Aberrant and was on my way, running a little late, when Jonie, who was lagging behind me a little started shrieking like the dickens. I stopped and got her calmed down, and noticed that she was limping badly. So I carried her a little ways, got a ride, got to the game. She wasn't responding badly when I touched her leg, but she kept limping, so I called a vet that was available for emergencies to ask if I should bring her in. They said that they couldn't be sure and it didn't sound to bad, but I should just to be safe. I figured it was for the better, and could tell me what to do about her cough while I was at it (she started coughing again on Saturday night, and the folk in Amishville kept suggesting it was kennel cough). So we went to the vet, and sure enough she was fine, thankfully, but they gave me some pain killers and a medicine for the cough.
Headed back to the game, and generally continued to do the political thing. Damn you Dr. Chaos, making me have to be nice to you. Stupid insane people. :) Anyway, I surprised myself by actually managing to catch the invisible, intangible guy just using raw wits and investigation. :) I got frustrated a bit in the middle (I hit that, how the fuck am I supposed to do this??? point) but I'm kind of proud of myself for getting through it, and I'm glad it worked out. I get mad at myself when I get frustrated about stuff like that. ;)

feyangel's nice and early yesterday to engage in that horrifying source of Highschool angst and horror: Prom.
All in all, it wasn't as horrifying as I thought it'd be. I mean, some really bad stuff happened, but it could have been so much worse. I shouldn't say that - it sounds like a challenge. :) Overall, I actually didn't have that bad a night ICly. I mean, I wasn't Prom Queen - not that I wanted to be - and even though I had some terrible stuff happen (two of my greatest fears got activated! here's to personal hell!) it ended up working out okay - I mean, time had to be messed with, but at least, you know, the horrifying things didn't actually end up happening. :) And I got to meet my dad (thanks,
kniedzw!) and now for some reason am actually considering trying to get a fricken 10 humanity. (can Dhampyr achieve Golconda??) but I have to decide - it's a lousy choice really. Best of all though, I finally got to resolve some of the IC issues I'd been having. Somehow Val is actually my friend now! I mean, we were getting there slowly, but I'd say it's pretty solid now. I guess being the only two pc's who know the world is ending counts as a bonding experience. :)
And I was pleased to take on the roll of being the prom night suckers. ;)
just_not_right and I had sort of figured we wouldn't make it much past prom. :) And since both of our own personal hells involved losing the other, it only made sense.
As always, though, I've got a bad feeling about stuff in that game...I can't imagine why...;)
Anyway, today is all about getting my act together and getting some stuff done. And it looks like I'll be going to Cedar Bluffs with
miraeko later. :) So yeah. On to other stuff!
Anyway...

Date: 2006-05-30 09:38 pm (UTC)Ditto on the Strangler Congrats. Personally, I've been really impressed by what people have been able to accomplish in this game. I don't think Jason makes it easy, I just think that we have a few folks (well, mostly you and Kyle!) who are just that good and on top of things. Me, I'm mostly just happy with my cheesy X-men crossovers and murder-induced angst and torturific crossdressing revelations!
I am the cheese!

Date: 2006-05-30 09:53 pm (UTC)I will admit that it's an awful lot of fun to try to juggle all of the plots at once, plus all of the background plots that only Claire, I, and Heather have any substantive contact with.
...though I suppose I shouldn't say that. There really are three layered games:
- The visible, public, superhero game,
- The secret masters game, and
- The occult mysteries game.
Of course, number 2 and number 3 are effectively the same on some levels, but it's a lot of fun playing Nick Fury and straddling each of those layers.no subject
Date: 2006-05-30 10:42 pm (UTC)Anyway, there is NOTHING wrong with campy X-Men crossovers. ;) I'm glad you didn't think it was tacky - I had lots of fun - as I said, I looooove playing Dani, and will happily do so anytime...I need to remember to send in for that information. ;)
