Life as it is
Jun. 2nd, 2006 09:59 amYesterday, I broke up with Jason. I could say a lot more about this, but really, I don't want to, at least not in LJ. I'm depressed and guilty and tired and a bit stressed, but this is what I had to do. Anyone who really wants to know more should get in touch; I don't really want to write about it.
My dad is coming in to town tomorrow, which will be nice. I haven't seen him since Christmas, and have only seen him like twice in the past year, and I don't really chat on the phone with him (though we exchange occasional e-mails) so it'll be good to catch up. He's visiting with my brother in Columbus OH now, and will be arriving around noon tomorrow. I haven't got lots planned, but I was thinking we'd check out some nature-y places like Cedar Bluffs, cause he loves to hike, and unless he objects we'll be seeing 12th Night that evening. (so anyone else planning to go at that time will see us there!) :) Other than that, I've had some other ideas. I'm not entirely sure when he is leaving though, which has made planning hard in some ways. :)
Mom's first real doctor's appointment since the surgery is going on right now. Because of the restriction on "no riding in moving vehicles," they've sent a physical therapist and a home nurse a few times, but no actual visits. But today she got in a cab and headed to the doctor. It's been 6 weeks since her surgery. She's been doing very well over all - I've not written that much about it - though she's been in more pain again recently, which has been worrying her a bit. Today the doctor will either clear her to ride in vehicles again or he won't (in which case it will be at least three more weeks before she can, as far as I know) and they'll do some x-ray's and give a general sense of her recovery thus far. She's nervous about it, I think, though she wasn't really talking to me about it because I was burdening her with my own stuff. :)
If she does get cleared, though, she and I have been talking about her visiting later in the summer, which'd be a lot of fun. My mom's a geek more than most adults (most people over 60) are (former gamer, digs anime and manga, that sort of thing) and she loves meeting my friends and, well, I think she's pretty awesome. :) But I'll know better after this appointment, I think.
Today I take Jonie to the vet for real, her appointment is at noon. This is just your standard puppy check up, and they'll probably give her some shots and such, and let me know when I should bring her back. I need to remember to talk to them about Heartworm medicine and about flea and tic stuff (my mom reminded me of that!). She's been doing really well, though. Her paw seems completely fine, she's still not ever actually peed in my house (though she peed in
Speaking of stairs, I was oh so proud of her, though - she climbed up an entire flight!! I was amazed. She got a treat for that one. ;)
I finally got my new debit card in the mail. Great, huh? Well, it uses the same PIN as the old one - you know, the pin I didn't know, which is why my card got deactivated in the first place? So now I have to wait another 7 to 10 days to get my new pin. Sigh. We live in an amazing age. Soon, soon I'll have a credit card that isn't Discover again... :)
Plan for the day: Going to vet, then going to do more house-hunting, and then ???.
Plan for tomorrow: hang out with dad, go to 12th Night.
Later all!

Thanks much for the hanging around offer - you keep talking about Sandbaggers, we should bring the watching of it about some time. :)

Date: 2006-06-02 06:06 pm (UTC)...and The Sandbaggers is certainly doable, now that Heather said that she is done with Season One. I expect to have it returned to me soon.
Of course, if you really cared, you'd listen to the Dino soundtracks I gave you and tell me what you think of them. :)
