Well, apparently after waking up at 8AM or earlier for the past 6 days, I can no longer sleep much past 10 (10:20). Ah well. At least I got over 8 hours of sleep. Barely.

Today is Changeling. I'm really looking forward to it, which is a nice feeling...sort of...

After dinner and Chili's, [livejournal.com profile] sapphohestia and I will grab the puppy and our luggage and head out to Athens, OH. We'll be there all day tomorrow, and then on Tuesday morning we'll head out to Washington DC. I think that's the schedule anyway. After that, I think we'll leave Wednesday morning for NYC, and leave NYC on Friday. But I might be slightly wrong. We switched things around a couple days ago, so I'm not sure that I have the details right. We get back Friday in time for [livejournal.com profile] buzzermccain's game, and then on to another busy weekend for me!

-Total miles: 27 miles between Monday and Friday. Saturday: 2 miles. :) I think I'm gonna keep track, as a note at the bottom of my posts, of how many miles - I'm getting curious - as well as getting lots of exercise. ;)

-I need to figure out how to juggle my commitments better. Totally up the internship and my job, I worked over 40 hours this week (like 7 of which were yesterday) and still got all that other stuff done. Yay?

A few people have asked me about my internship, so I thought that I'd explain it briefly. I'm working at the E. Lingle Craig Preservation Laboratory, which is located in the same building as the Auxiliary Library Facility (ALF), which is out on Pete Ellis north of 10th street. I'm working with Jim Canary, who is one of the two head folk over there as far as I know (the other being a gentleman named Gary). I'm learning how to:
1. Make housing. This is a fancy way of saying I'm learning to make lots of different kinds of boxes.
2. Present exhibits. This is a fancy way of saying I'm learning how to do things like cut and bend plexiglass into little stands.
3. Learn book triage. This is a fancy way of saying that I'm learning how to figure out what treatments a given book needs, mostly by staring at them for a moment or two and then passing judgement. :)
4. Hopefully, I'll learn some simple binding techniques. Jim say's I can, and it's really what I wanted to learn when I started this thing, so here's hoping. :)

Yesterday was fairly busy. I woke up way early and worked for a few hours, then headed over to the Midnight game, where I was largely ineffective. (This game: three crit fails, no crit successes. Sigh.) I'm not particularly bothered by this (LJ doesn't really convey the casual way in which I mean my previous statement ;) ) but it was the case nonetheless.

Then, I left my pup with [livejournal.com profile] squishymeister and met up with [livejournal.com profile] dyrecorn, [livejournal.com profile] miraeko, [livejournal.com profile] khaoskitty, a friend of their's visiting from England, and others, and headed over to Taste of Bloomington, which was a lot of fun. Highlights included Siam House, which brought Thai Iced Tea (yummm); the World Taste place on Walnut, which had goat with them - I'd never had goat before, but it was decent; this yummy tiramisu gelato stuff; udon from Mikado (they had sushi, but it was a mixed plate with some kinds I didn't like, damn vegetables messing up my sushi); and more. Everything was good, as far as I could tell - no one told me that something they tried totally sucked. :) And I still have one thing left, a danish from Roots that I saved for breakfast this morning cause I couldn't eat another bite last night.

We left just in time, and made it to the car just as the downpour started at 9ish (we still got the pre-downpour, but still) and grabbed my dog, and I headed home to do more work, which I finished at about 1. Then I did some other stuff (I was supposed to e-mail my internship goals before I finished 10 hours, and I've done more than double that already, oopsy!) including some prep for the game, and finally got my butt to bed at about 2. Long day!

Anyway, I've got a few things I aughta do before I leave today, so I'm off!

And everyone, remember to call dad's/dad figures/grand parents/uncles/etc. I know I'm worried I'll forget. ;)
