Well, I'm slowly but surely approaching the "no longer ridiculously busy" point, but until then, just a few comments to folk. All of these except the first are questions and such for folk, so please actually read them. ;) ;) If you have any questions/comments related to them that can't be left in LJ, gimme a call for details, etc. My number is 812 327 5880.

-Furniture Question: I am looking for a queen sized matress, a couch or two, a coffee table, and some other odds and ends. I intend to check at Goodwill and Furniture Exchange, and, failing those, in the paper and in the student listings on Onestart. However, does anyone have any friends selling stuff like that? Alternatively, anyone know any awesome dumpster diving spots? Please do share! If anyone spots something awesome lying on the side of the road, gimme a call, or just snag it if you can. ;)
-Gencon Question: Gencon is next week! Does anyone need a place to stay in Indy? I have a suite that is currently being shared by myself,
deadmanwade,
eviltophat from Binghamton, and our friends Kevin K. and Jeremy L. also of Binghamton. This room is in the Embassy Suites, which is about two blocks from the Convention Center, and is connected by skyways and various such things such that you don't even need to go outside to get to the convention center. It's a suite with at least two beds. Technically, it's not supposed to have more than 4 people in it, but it's expensive, so I'd like to have a couple more than the 5 we currently have. Those who stay with us would have to accept a bit of room key juggling, and will probably be sleeping on the floor (I'll be sleeping on the floor. ;) ) It's $1000 total, divided by however many people we have. If someone couldn't afford an even share, I'd be more than willing to accept whatever they COULD pay, seeing as any amount still reduces how much each individual has to pay. :)
-Moving Help: Tomorrow I'm packing. I intend to start at about 10 AM at 46D at Knightridge (
deadmanwade, can you please bring the spare key tonight so that I don't necessarily have to wake you up to start?). Any help would be vastly appreciated, and rewarded with food. Even company would be spiffy, if ya don't feel like packing. :)
Then, Monday I'm moving. Once again, I intend to start at about 10 AM at 46D (Though I'll be doing some other moving before then...) and once more, food will be appreciated, as will any vehicular help (I currently have access to a van and a station wagon and potentially a pick up truck.
Thanks everyone!

Re: Moving - Do you need boxes? I've got a few Avon boxes, and they're about the same size as the ones in which paper comes - with lids! They stack like nobody's business.

Anyhow. I'll probably be available to help out on Monday after I get back from work, but likely not before then. Sorry. :-/

Date: 2006-08-04 09:13 pm (UTC)BUT...I will be happy to drive around with you and look at furniture when we get back, if you are still in the market! I have a hatchback with fold-down seats that can take most not-quite-as-large stuff. And another place you might check for furniture is Long's Landing...it is waaaaay out on east 3rd Street, and they have some nice new and used stuff (and they deliver to Bton)...
Good luck! Sorry I can't be of more immediate help :(
