Taking a few minutes to update...

I have a few minutes to update, woot!

Well, things have been way busy (as I indicated) but I'm off to a better start this week; I'm actually kind of on top of my reading, which makes me happy, though I'm still scrambling. I've been working a lot too, which is rather tiring. Still, my classes are pretty interesting, and I really feel like I'm starting to get the hang of this semester - it's a tiring one, with lots of stuff I've committed to, but I can handle it once I get into the swing of things. :)

I've already written a ton about the last Changeling game; I'll spare my reading audience any more of it save to say that I'm still very much in Changeling brain - when ever my head is in "neutral" and I'm not really thinking about anything in particular, my mind seems to wander to game. It's a little surreal. Still, I'm very pleased because I've transistioned from being depressed about it to being excited. I went to Joann's, spent a fortune on costume stuff - I've cut almost all the cloth already, too. (I need to get ahead on it, because I'll be losing one entire weekend when I might be sewing when my mom is here, and then I need to still have time to make my Halloween costume...) :)

Last game of BAPA was fun; I feel like I'm a little bit on the outside in the game, but I'm still having fun. It's hard to be the popular girl all the time, so it was sort of nice that I got to let that mask slip a little bit last game. I need to get on the ball, though, we've got a homecoming to plan! :)

Aberrant was pretty nice yesterday. I got to do an investigation, which makes me happy - now I get to organize a trip to Egypt, I'd say...hehehe... I managed to get some work done while I was there, too, which is spiffy - I can't really afford to lose all day on Sunday, but if I can have some fun and hang out and still get some reading done, it'll all work out, yay!

I was very sorry to have to cut out of BHSS early on Saturday morning, I was just starting to get pretty excited about playing. I want to know what horrible things the Tremere are doing to me; I was hoping that I could corner [livejournal.com profile] feyangel at Aberrant and ask her, but she wasn't able to be there, dang it all. ;) As it is, I hope I can pin her down between now and whenever we next play, I need to get my angst quotient in for that game. Also, [livejournal.com profile] saracariad and I examined our schedules, and we were thinking we'd like to play next on October 14th (I'm busy this coming Saturday and the Saturday after that)...it's the Saturday after the interlude. Any thoughts, fellow players? (I should send out an e-mail about this, but I'm lazy. ;) )

Saturday was a lot of fun. [livejournal.com profile] schenker28 and I went down to Nashville in the early afternoon and wandered around the stores there. Because the weather was rainy and nasty, it wasn't crowded at all, and the rain cleared up within about an hour of us getting there, so we didn't get all that wet, either. I found a lot more local crafts places than I'd managed to spot last night, and I picked up some gifts for the family (believe it or not, this is a little late for me in the starting my Christmas shopping department, I generally get started around the beginning of September...) ...we found some nice crafts, ate yummy local ice cream (mine had yummy marshmallow's in it! :) ), did a wine tasting (I've never actually done that before...I actually found one I kind of liked, and picked up a bottle of it to share with the family at Christmas time...), and had a generally nice time. Then, we saw the play at 8. None of all ya'll bothered to show up...but it was your loss. I won't claim that the show was perfect (there were a few slipped lines...) but it was still very well done, they covered there mistakes well, and all in all I'm very glad we went and would highly recommend it. The two actors did a really great job with a pretty tough set up - that long with only the two of them!

Meanwhile, on Friday in horse back riding, [livejournal.com profile] miraeko and I actually got to ride horses! The first two lessons we occupied ourselves with learning about the tack and such. It was sooooo nice to be on a horse again, I can't wait til this coming Friday when we'll be getting to ride a bunch more. It was so interesting to me the ways in which little things I would have thought I'd forgotten came back to me - how to move to encourage my horse to keep walking, how to sit up straight, how to hold my thighs - when I woke up on Saturday, I had that familiar pain in those muscles you don't use for anything other than horseback riding as far as I can tell, and it made me oh-so-happy. :)

Step dancing as been a lot of fun, too. I think I'm getting better it, though it's only been a couple lessons so maybe I'm just being silly. There are 6 of us in the class; 3 have taken the class before (there is only one difficulty level, so all experience levels are mixed), 1 has done some dancing before, and me and one other lady are brand new. I think I'm doing better than she is, not that that matters, and it's definitely fun, and much harder work than I'd expected. I'm still doing my DDR, though I'm having trouble telling if I'm getting any better. I'm playing DDR Extreme 2 now (I need to get me a copy of DDR Max 2...) and it's set up strangely, you HAVE to play mission mode in order to unlock new music, which is irritating, but the normal mode is "free play" so you're not stuck in the "restart every 5 songs" mode, which is very nice. Annoyingly, all of the hardest songs are in one alphabetical clump...it's an exhausting run!

Monday night was [livejournal.com profile] kniedzw's birthday. It was a lot of fun, though I felt guilty because I had the worst timing ever, arriving at the door to the surprise party just as the birthday boy was turning up. I felt dumb. That and my cupcakes were too floury!! Sorry! :) Still, I'm really glad I went, I got to wash dishes (hehe), hang out with folk, have my Changeling journal mocked, and generally have a good time hanging out with some people I hang out with often and some that I hardly ever hang out with. And the baking in the morning shocked me, in that I was amazed to discover that it really helped me feel better about the day before.

Anyway, I'm hard at work on school, and work, and my Changeling costume, and my Changeling soundtrack, and my Halloween costume, and a BAPA costume [livejournal.com profile] saracariad and I are planning, and cleaning the house before my mom comes in less than two weeks, and a paper I have due on Friday...it's funny, at some point I started to like being busy most of the time, there is something relaxing about it that I can't quite explain. I mean, it's stressful and annoying, but it's also sort of reassuring. I don't always feel that way, but I do right now.
Tonight I'll be watching more Firefly! Woot! :)

I could probably play that Saturday.

Sweet...I'll send an e-mail out to folk... :)

Hah, I was confused because I do thigh presses and it makes those same muscles sore. I immeditately associated it with that, even though I hadn't lifted since Wednesday; it took me all day to realize that this wasn't the case.

lol...yeah, that makes sense...I have done one or two other exercises in my life that hurt those same muscles, but I haven't done any recently. ;)
