Baked Goods
So, I'm procrastinating horribly. I've been meaning to pick up a book to write recipes in for about a month - I've been baking enough in the new place that I needed to a better way to keep my recipes than as random, ingredient stained computer print outs. ;) So I bought a book and compiled the ones I've made thus far, plus some others recommended to me by folk, including some scrounged from ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif) yummyrecipes posted by

Anyway, the point of this post is simple: Anyone have any awesome baking recipes that I aughta add to my book? I'm only going to put in recipes I know are good, and I'm judging that either by making them myself or if they come recommended by someone I trust (like all of you). I'm specifically interested in baking, cause, well, I can't cook. I'll find some way (possibly tasty...) to thank those who help me out. Oh, and my own initial contribution to this effort: my mom's wonderful oatmeal scones, as provided at![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif) khaoskitty's tea party and the last Knightridge party. :)

I need to get my other grandmother to give me her recipe for sweet and sour meatballs, which are awesome. Likewise, I should bug my uncle for his apple tart recipe, which is nifty. Hm....

The first is actually Kyle's. But it's good, and I don't think he has any quams about sharing (do you Kyle?)
Diabolical Bean Dip
Mix:
1 can refried beans
8 oz sour cream (low fat is fine if you care about that sorta thing)
8 oz cream cheese (I think the same thing...but I use regular)
Make sure cream cheese has sat out for about an hour so it's soft. I find the best way of doing this is chop stuff, then mix
1 packet taco seasoning
some tobasco sauce if you'd like
1 cup THINLY (though I'm not nearly as crazy about it as Kyle is) sliced green onion
1 cup chopped black olived
Place all this good stuff in a nice oven dish thing, and "sprinkle" 8 oz of cheddar (I use sharp) and 8oz of jack cheese over the top.
Place dish in oven (uncovered) and bake at 350 deg for 20 minutes
My second recipe is my mom's. It is a tasty zangy chicken dinner
Cook some chicken (I use tenders, but whatever) up in a bunch of butter (or margerine) and lemon juice. The more juice, the tangier. While that's going make some (preferably Brown) rice. Use a 1/4 cup lemon juice substitute for water in cooking the rice. When all your chicken is nice and cooked (I chop the meat up BTW, the flavor gets around better that way) then add a cup of cream of brocoli soup and just enough milk to wash out the can to the chicken. Stir, cook long enough for it to get nice and hot (or warm, whatever) Put chicken over rice and serve!

ingredients:
3/4 c sugar
1 1/2 c. mashed bananas
1/4 c. butter
2 large eggs
2 c. flour
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Mix all ingredients except ch. chips well (with wooden spoon). Add ch. chips to batter & mix well. Pour batter into greased and floured loaf pan. Cover loosely with aluminum foil tent. Bake at 325 F for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for 40 minutes or until done. Cool, remove from pan, slice, serve.
