Nutcracker

unforthWell, Nutcracker was good, though not as good as I had hoped. The choreography was a bit sloppy, and very simplistic. It just wasn't that interesting compositionally. I liked it anyway, but, well, I had hoped for better.
However, it was improved dramatically when, about half way through, I had a thought. There was a winter dance going on, and the female soloist was (in my brain) the winter queen. I was pondering this, when suddenly my brain transformed the soloist into Chet, and from that point on every scene that went on my brain metamorphosed into Changeling stuff. It was terrible, but highly amusing. Especially the dancing Varich. They were awesome. So whenever things started to lag, I just started recasting the show. ;)
