Hey everyone! I rather liked staying on top of posting while I was away, so I thought I'd make an attempt at doing so now that I'm home. Every day isn't going to quite happen, but I can manage better than once a month. This past week has included a visit from my grandfather, a trip to the opera, a few hours at New York Comic Con, Sir Patrick Stewart live, and more!

Day 15 )
Last chance for specific requests from Italy! Otherwise, if I found something I thought you'd like you're in luck, and otherwise, you're not! :)

Hey everyone! I'll post about my travel day later, but this is a post to advertise to my non-FB using wonderful LJ friends that I am taking commissions to make custom amigurumi, or any other crocheted item (if I can, obviously) for the holidays! Feel free to drop me an e-mail (unforth@yahoo.com) or comment or what not if this is something that would interest you! If you haven't seen my work, check out or my craft blog to see what I can do! :) (I'll do prints of photographs and cards and other related items, too!)

In other news, I've finally added pics to the first entry! Take a peak, if you're interested (they're linked to, not posted in the entry).

Day 9

Day 9 went unposted about last night because it was singularly uneventful. A major work thing came to the forefront on Day 8, and had to be done by Oct. 1st, which is before we get back. On reflection I decided that I had done everything in Rome that I felt most strongly about - that I could pass on the things that I hadn't done yet, and save them for some future trip - and that rather than work for only a few hours a day on this work thing and have it hanging over my head for most of the trip (with the further concern of the unknown status of internet availability in our hotel room in Venice) I spent a good chunk of Friday evening, Saturday day, and most of this morning, and am now pretty much done (completely done as far as I'm concerned, but it's pending approval by both the client and the external folks who have to give a thumbs up on it). After that, we went to Babington's again, which remains very pleasant though very expensive, and then I pondered going for a night walk, and decided not to. Thus, I did essentially nothing of any interest yesterday, and thus did not write about it.

Today, we catch a train for Venice. We leave at 12:45, and will arrive around 4:30, then will hop in a cab to the Hotel Grimani. I have no idea how much internet access I'll have; probably not as much as I have here, but if I'm lucky, what ever I do have will be faster. :) I've started to read up on Venice, and it doesn't seem like there's as much to do there, and it seems like it's a very nice city to just wander, so I suspect the second half of this trip will be more low key than the first half. Anyway, it's 7 days in Venice, then an overnight at a Rome airport hotel, and an early departure on the morning of October 4th, and home! I'm glad I got the work thing done. I'm less glad at the work things waiting for me when I get back - but this was a big one.

Onward!

Day 8

Day 8 ) So if you want a postcard and didn't ask me for one, now is your moment. :)

Still uploading pictures. Definitely not getting them attached to posts today. Now that I have all the work to do after all, probably won't get them linked before I get home. What a pain. :( Later!

Day 3 )

The first batch of photos is almost done uploading! Which means I can start getting up the second batch, tonight! Woot, or something. :)

As I so often do, I though I would attempt to keep my journal a bit more regularly away, to help me record and remember the various experiences that I am having. Pictures, of course, are pending.

Trip and Arrival )
Day 1 )

Pics to come - if I have the time now, I hopefully will have some integrated into this post as links within the next half hour or so. At least, that's the plan. :)

Edit: Well, the photos ARE uploading, and have been for an hour, but it's going VERY slowly over the internet connection here. Bah! I'll integrate them later. :)

Edit 2 It's 9/27, and I've finally got the pictures linked in this post. :)

Well, it's been ages since I've posted, though I've been reading all along. I just thought I'd post quickly and say I'm alive. Life has been decent of late. I spent most of the summer very busy with work. Gencon was awesome, I bought some lovely art, stayed in budget, and got to see my friends. I've been pondering life-changing decisions and feeling completely not up to the task. I've been recently working on growing the craft business, and though these efforts have yet to generate a single sale, I'm still feeling good about them. I've been slowly getting my Flickr account back on track. I've gotten to a few museums, visited my dad, gone to a lot of baseball games, gone up to Binghamton for the first time in a while, and otherwise been home. I've considered "breaking up" with the dog, and have decided not to for now. I've bought an electronic drum kit, and look forward to wailing on it. I've continued to lose weight, and hit my goal weight during the summer. I've started seriously researching the Civil War book, despite numerous stalls, it's proceeding.

I'll try to get around to writing more about the last, oh, six months that I've barely talked about on here, but not right now. The main point of this post was to give an update on my schedule to the folks who read here. I had thought to have the kind of September where I could spend two weeks watching Supernatural, but that hasn't happened at all. Instead, I'll be traveling a ton, and busy with work all in between. Here's the schedule:
Travel Schedule: )
I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by it all, but I think it will be fun, and most of it isn't going to cost me very much, which is kinda awesome. :)

The other thing I wanted to share was for the few friends who are on here but not on Facebook, I've recently (as in, last week) started a Crafting blog. (one of my efforts to grow the craft business). I've been updating it daily so far. No idea how long THAT will continue, but for now I'm having fun with it. If you're at all interested in either my crochet, my sewing, my embroidery, or my photography, or in the progress I make in business, you might want to follow it: Crafts, Crochet and Cards.

So - how have you all been?

Since I still have a few friends who read LJ, and aren't on FB, I just thought I'd mention that Oz and I broke up.

I'm really exhausted, but glad to be home; I just drove 1625 miles in 36 and a half hours.

I don't plan to say more about this in either place, so if anyone wants to talk, they should call me. My home number is 347 427 0135
