As I was standing at the bus stop today in the cold and the rain for more than 5 minutes, I got to thinking. A couple of years ago, standing in the cold and the rain would have seriously depressed me. It would have ruined my day. I would have spent considerable time complaining about it for at least the rest of the day, and probably a chunk of the next day. And I stood there today, I jacked the music up on my CD player, belted out They Might Be Giants, and practiced belly dancing. I had the hood up on my coat, but it was annoying me, so I flipped it back and let my hair get rained on. I got kind of wet, my hands were sort of cold, and I was perfectly fine about it. It's strange to see how much I've changed. It's nice to realize that I'm pretty much happy with my life right now. And I like that I've become the sort of person who can be cheerful even on a rainy day.

This has been your introspective babbling for today. I should probably get to class now.

My hair will be black by the end of the day...(please wash out quickly, please wash out quickly...)

Oh, and this is a new one for me, but, uh, Happy Imbolc...

I wouldn't mind the rain, except it has stranded me at the library without a raincoat or umbrella. And I really *wanted* to do laundry today. Perhaps I'll catch the bus half way and only get mostly soaked.

I'd offer you a ride, but it involves taking a C bus to Eigenmann at 2. But, hey, if you're cool with that...

thanks for the offer! :) I caught the A bus half way home and then sucked it up and walked the rest. Now I'm warming up with mac n cheese. :)

Just think of it as an excuse to go home and take nice long hot shower or bath. :)

"Someone Keeps Moving My Chair" is on my current mix, as is "Spiraling Shape." It isn't the only song I was singing while waiting for the bus, but I didn't think the others were anything anyone would have heard of (1208 - Fall Apart and Motion City Soundtrack - Capital H were the other two)

So, what dye did you decide on?

Uh...I'm not sure. It was black and it was on clearance. I got two different ones, actually, cause none of the semi-permanent black hair dyes were cleared for use in hair as light as mine, so I got one that will supposedly wash out in 28 washes, and a second that will wash out in about 10, and [livejournal.com profile] deadmanwade thinks I should use the longer lasting one to get started, and then layer the other one on top of that to get the rest of the way to black. I'm just terrified I'm gonna have black hair until it grows out. If that happens I will cry. I like my natural color, dammit. :)
